How many times have we laughed about opposing fans claiming they had an "off day" when they played us and we won? And how many of those times was it true, or did we just stop them playing?

Fact is, we've been undone by a superior side today. They've nullified us, stopped us playing, and outclassed us. No shame in that. They're the European and world champions. Our season won't be defined by this result. We'll continue to defy the pundits, and we'll stay up comfortably.

Forget tonight, and move on

They haven't stopped us playing, we did try. Unrecognizable out there tonight.

It's not a surprise that a lot of teams look poor against them - They dominate every area of the pitch.

Yep, not too down about it. They were frighteningly good at times, and the speed at which they break is ridiculous. They'll win the league easily this season, probably by March.

We had a couple of good spells but they were rare, we were outplayed by a far superior team and held them to two goals.

I take a lot of heart from the fact that so far we've lost by two goals to the current champions, the future champions and by a freak VAR / offside situation. No-one is dominating us.

I disagree, liverpool dominated us tonight. We didnt help ourselves though with holding back and letting them come at us. A lot better teams than us have been dominated there.

Just a observation, how the fuck did mcburnie miss that

They were excellent, make no bones about it. But the number of times we easily and with limited pressure turned the ball over made it a very uncharacteristic display from us.

I think those errors were being made because of how well Liverpool were playing. There probably were an uncharacteristic number of unforced errors from ourselves, but I feel that was because Liverpool had us rattled with their play. They cut through us easier than anyone except Manchester United during that mad 7 minutes or so. And when a team does that to you, you are rattled and make mistakes.

Our game was below par because Liverpool played so well. Although I do accept the clanger leading to the first goal so early in the game didn't get us off to the best of starts.

It isn’t black and white. Liverpool were immense and made us look pretty shite, the first team this season to. Got to be proud that only the world champions have managed that. Some of our fans need to take a step back or just fully fuck off, heard a couple of twats labelling Lunny a “prick” for misplacing a pass.

The lack of nuance from some people is staggering. It is possible to have a "off day" and not be at our best while the opposition are better. Its not a excuse its a fact that we weren't up to our regular standard today as wilder's post match interview shows.

Liverpool have been making teams have off day for the last two years...... This Liverpool team will go down of one of there very best teams in there history

If we hadn't conceded on the 4th min could well have been a different game
The lads need to dust themselves down and move on to West ham which now turns into a massive game for us seeing who we have the following two games after.... We don't want to be going into feb saying we have lost 5 on the bounce

Saying that I think we beat West ham at the lane

I’m sick of seeing thread after thread insinuating the same thing, we were wank and people including Wilder are allowed to say that, that was the worst passing performance, barely under no pressure at all I’ve seen from us.
