Lads been getting a lot of championship interest according to the Daily Mail

I can see him possibly going to the Dingles, but will they give him game time? Bradshaw and Winnall will be hard to shift.

Rotherham a sinking ship and a smaller club. Not the most attractive prospect.

I would really, really love to see us make a move for this lad. I can see Grimsby's price being quite an obstacle, though. Not getting my hopes up.

If Barnsley and Rotherham could get him then so could we.

I think someone bigger will go for him though. As I've said before, we missed our chance to sign him when we sold DCL. If our scouts already knew he was anything like as good as he's shown this season then it was a big mistake.

If Grimsby are really holding out for ~£1m I'd say that would rule Utd for this season at least.

More to the point, has CW even indicated that he's after another striker or has that been conjoured up by the FIFA 17 managers of the year on here who know better than he does?

What scouts?

No way will be able to land Bogle...he will be Championship bound, Wolves would be my guess, I could even see the snortbeasts having a look.

For what it's worth I reckon our January targets are already sorted and business will be done swiftly...Paul Mitchell moves completely under the radar with his scouting. The possible outs will be interesting...for the first time in a long time we don't have any "crown jewels" as such although I could see a few fringe players going out on loan, (Lewis Read, George Long etc)...hanging on to EEL will be a priority although I suspect CW already knows what is happening on that score..

Minus £1 million? Nah, I think even tightfist McCabe would pay that.

It's a big leap up though, and I can't see the likes of Wolves being able to guarantee him games. We could.

You're probably right, but I think we should at least try.

If we could get him for £1m then I think we'd be pretty stupid not to, based on everything I've seen of him, his age and our current situation.

If we're willing to chuck £1.5m+ at Brayford when we were miles off the automatic spots and not desperate for a right back then we should be more than willing to spend £1m on Bogle when we're in the mix for automatic promotion, and are actually in need of a player in his position.

He's precisely the type of player who could very quickly become worth £5m+. Think Andre Gray and Britt Assombalonga. It's a no brainer of a gamble.

I'd take it one step further and say if we could get Bogle and Ched for less than £2m combined it would be even more of a no brainer. It's very likely at least one of them would soon be worth more than that amount on their own. This is how I'd like us to approach a lot of our transfer business. This could also potentially give us a Championship quality strike force before we get there, and save us a lot of money.

I know it's unlikely we'd chuck that sort of money at it but Wilder could make a good case for them to spend it on players like this, at this current time.

It's all very well saying that and in an ideal world the risk would be taken (& may well prove fruitful as has been demonstrated by clubs like P'boro) but Utd these days are operating under a reduced budget and I very much doubt either owner wishes or intends to chuck a couple more £m into the pot to speculate on unproven, lower league players such as Bogle in the hope they increase in value and more importantly, integrate into the squad quickly, thereby improving it and helping achieve promotion.

Both McCabe and HRH have seen previous gambles/investments (the insane signing of Brayford being the best example) being frittered away with little or nothing to show for it.

Hopefully they realise that Brayford was a one off in terms of stupidity/value for money and that we now have a manager who is not only capable of signing the right players, but also getting them playing well.

If they want out of this division then there's no better time to back a manager, and there's been no better manager to back.

I'd also like to think that they're willing to trust the judgement of the chief scout, who has a proven record.

I agree with all that Ricky - the only problem now is persuading KMc or HRH to part with the additional monies, asssuming there's insufficient in this year's budget despite the sale and Adams and DCL and that of course CW has identified players of such market value.

It's all about whether or not Bogle has the mentality of someone who wants to make alot of money (Sign for a championship club but more than likely be on the bench every week) or for him to join us, or another league 1 side who will play him every week, pay him a better wage than Grimsby will and have a good chance of promotion/playing high end league 1 football

Lets be realistic here, he'd be daft to sign for us if Championship clubs were in for him.

Agree, any thought that of anything other than a sizeable wage increase with a Champ club won't be a consideration for the player or his agent.....not unless CW considers him a 'must have' player who'll make the difference and the player and agent can see reasons to come to Sheffield.

So I heard that for EEL, Clarke could be a big factor in the signing of EEL because they are good mates.

Looking on EEL's twitter, is he good friends with Omar Bogle?? I highly doubt that Bogle would reject championship offers for us, just because of the fact that he is friends with EEL, but it was something that gave me a little bit of belief!

Someone and many people on various social media's are saying Wilder is at Grimsby Vs Donny today. I wonder who he's watching

Slightly off subject but did anyone go in the Grimsby bar preseason? I belive it was run by the fans. It was like a dingy Spanish bar run by an ex pat for football fans and memorabilia... I Loved it!

Or perhaps John Marquis...wasn't he on loan at Northampton last season? A tireless leader of the line n all that...
