"Boggles"

We sell a player, get a bit of cash in the bank and suddenly we are linked with the world and his best mate. Agents must be working fucking overtime this weekend.

You been at mine an LYDON's secret stash of absinthe home brew Koz or hanging round the petrol forecourt again?

from a quote...

The first time i drunk absinthe, I was at my brothers place.
I found myself talking for hours to somebody who simply wasn't there. As that chair was empty, my brother said.
Later when I got back home my bedroom I somehow imagined to be a haunted dinosaur graveyard.
I had to climb over the graves and bones to reach my bathroom.

The second time i drunk absinthe, I hacked into my front door with an axe...

The third and next time i will be spending a couple of nights in an ancient forest.

I just hope i return in one piece...

I just want to attain third level status...

I drank it once, a decade ago. I'd moved away from home for my first degree, I was 19, a little bit cocksure and then several shots later, the world temporarily became a much more surreal place.

My mate hallucinated that he was a cat and spent the next hour crawling places, meowing & I thought that a pair of curtains were a blank map of the world, that we had yet to write as we explored and discovered continents. So, off we set in the early hours of the morning, walking into Lincoln city centre - one lad and his cat - to discover new land. Safe to say, I had alcohol poisoning thereafter, nasty stuff.

Oh, and anyone know owt about this Bogle fella?

For the record, the surreal "experiences" you have when drinking absinthe or any other strong alcohol strictly speaking aren't hallucinations. :p

Correct it turned out I actually did and said what I thought I'd hallucinated

On the plus side my probation officer was fit

Might have to turn this one into a 'player suggestion'.

Just watched the L2 highlights from last week and saw this...

Three goals, two assists!

Looks like he's got a lot in his locker for a big centre forward. Left footed too... reminds me of a certain former Hereford striker, an old favourite of mine...

Maybe we should've signed him on deadline day. Maybe we would have if we sold DCL earlier. But looking at this he would've cost more than I thought he might, and if it's a sign of things to come from him he'll be out of our reach by January.

Looks a handful, not only could he play for SUFC, but he could supplement his income by working on night club doors......

Would've liked someone like him, Colclough or Jon Obika on a permanent deal after selling both Adams and DCL. Replace the attacking option, replace the potential, gain another asset.

He scored two in the space of a few minutes in the playoff final at the end of last season and looked handy.

Was talking to a Grimsby supporter on holiday about him who said he's decent but didn't get in their side much until late in the season.

Maybe he's a hidden gem. Who knows. Not the most credible source in the world anyway.

Scored two again today, at Luton. Seven so far this season.

I think we've missed our chance with him. He'll be on at least 12 goals by January and his price will be £1m+. Shame, signing him would've made selling DCL acceptable.

This is what I don't like about our transfer policy under McCabe.

We have a penchant for taking the cash and then wondering what the hell we are going to do with it (or we delay delay so we have no time to spend it).

Other clubs often connect that they need to get a replacement first. It seems there is little concern to us bring short as long as we don't jeopardise the cash coming in.

Had we announced Bogle or the guy from Barnet for example you would have said "fine".

As it is, what was the point in selling DCL other than to (over) balance the books of signings made? It can't have been to finance two out of favour loan players?

Missed the boat on this one.DCL scored on his England u20 debut by the way.

Agree he looks a good prospect but Bogle might have been an option had Clarke not signed.
With Clarke already signed it would be difficult to see Bogle getting a start, especially in the context of the strikers still at the club prior to the window closing.
Even Clarke is struggling to get a start at the moment. And when he is on the pitch he isn't doing the business.

Although I'm sure that Wilder has his net cast wide, we seem to have good attacking options at the moment. The areas that need strengthening are defence and midfield. Good to see EEL impose himself, but until it's clear that he's the dominant figure we've lacked (we need two such players to be honest) I'll reserve judgement.

As I've repeatedly said since he signed for us, Clarke will be a mistake signing. Especially on a 3 yr deal.

There is a reason them lot over there refer to him as "agent Clarke" !

UTB

They also refer to agent Lavery. Shall we write him off as well?
