Lord Sebastion Coe last night expressed again the desire to involve all of Britain in the Olympics of 2012.
As Sheffield is a city of sport and it has a big place in his heart. I hope he brings Olympic football to the lane. Can Sheffield United offer more than this as host for other sports?

Are the venues not decided already? I'd be amazed if they haven't been...

I think Sheffield will be a massive training base for a lot of athletes with the EIS and Ponds Forge... whether that'll include football as well, who knows.

With the men's and women's teams, there be a lot of players looking for training facilities.

Id be completely indifferent to this unless United got some cash for the use of the stadium. I find the summer olympics so boring its unbelievable and wish that we didnt have them atall. Now the winter olympics that was a different story, if only we could get some snow and grow some mountains.

I'm sure if any of the football governing bodies had a say in it, they would give the venue to some tired run down pile of shite somewhere down the road......................:D

Especally after the £22M investment by the pigs.

Only got about 100 weeks to complete the works.

I'll look out for the heavy plant moving in on Penistone Rd next Monday morning.

Whats the EIS?

It was announced quite a few months ago now that Villa Park had dipped out from hosting some of the Olypmic football matches and that McCabe had put Bramall Lane forward as an alternative venue.

I've heard nowt on the subject since.

Cheers Foxy and Linz, never even heard of the English Institute of Sport before
