Hey, that's just reminded me - we'll be in the new Pro Evo this year, probably as Steel City Blades or summat.
No. We’ll be just Sheffield. Cos unlike Liverpool & Manchester there’s only one team from Sheffield in the Premier League!! 😂😂

I believe they have changed the way they name clubs now. We will probably be Sheffield RW
Bournemouth RB
Watford YB
Etc

So happy on this one. Improves every time I've seen him play and at this age he will grow into quite the complete forward with 100% effort and the tutelage of CWAK. Immense signing 🙏

I’m sitting having a beer looking at this - and with binoculars I can see my grandchildren across the bay. Now I’m reading that Tufty has put the icing on a magical transfer window cake. Life doesn’t get any better, and I’m further North in the UK than most of you will have been.

Come what may - this will be the best Blades year since 74/75.

He’s probably the only striker i’ve seen cause our defence problems in both games last season so I bet JOC,Egan & Bash are glad he’s signed for us!!

Scotland is fine.

The trouble is the fucking Scots.

Hadrian had the right idea and I'm a missionary.
on the whole i found the Scots to be top drawer except for the Celtic types who drive around with fucking Ireland flags.. ‘StPatricks day Irish’ they called them
oh and Sturgeon isn’t as popular as the BBC would have you believe, only in the Central belt so don’t let her put you off

Regards McBurnie i’m cautiously pleased.
Think we’ve slightly overpaid (15 million tops would be fair) but I suppose that’s the crazy state of the current market.

I’d say in isolation Maupay is a better finisher than McBurnie.
BUT I really believe McBurnie has a more allround game than Maupay, more of a rough diamond with more potential.

Also there are other factors, apparently McBurnie is good in the changing room, big personality and bit of a leader.

Also although I did say Maupay was currently better then McBurnie, it’s not so simple.
The most important factor is how that player interacts in their team.
We already have a Maupay type of striker, in Billy Sharp but we don’t have anyone like McBurnie.
I suppose McBurnie is a Madine type of player but a massive upgrade and better finisher.

Not sure I agree re. Finishing. Maupay under performed his Xg last season where Mcburnie out performed his while having a better conversion rate(only bettered by Sharp). All that in a swansea side that certainly attacking wise and chance creation was not as good as the Brentford one.

Not saying Maupay wouldnt have been a very good signing but I'd have always gone for McBurnie and I'm delighted it looks done!

McBurnie should always have been the number 1 target for us. He will play well with and compliment all our other strikers and be a huge asset for us.

Maupay would have been nice also, but that ship sailed i think, when we landed the Moose. I think the Moose was a direct replacement for Maupay and tbh, im happy with Moosey being onboard as he is potentially as good or if not better, than Maupay.

Stiften up midfield / get competition for RCB, and we have a fighters punch chance of staying in the PL for a good few season's yet.

If we get through this first season, and buy well next pre season, i could see us starting to establish ourselves and get comfortable at the big table.

Nail on head sir.

McBurnie provides everything we don't have in our other strikers. Really is a pivotal signing.

Theres a swansea fan on Twitter reporting that Newcastle have come in with a late bid for Ayew and scuppered our deal. Probably a wind up merchant, hopefully anyway cos that'd be a sickener.

Makes no difference, Swansea had "banked" the Ayew money weeks ago when he was off to Palace....he is leaving anyway, just depends where to.

I'm pretty sure they've two Ayew's (brothers). One has gone to palace and the other is being moved on too.

The biggest difference between McBurnie and Maupay was how they appear to have conducted themselves whilst the transfers were getting sorted, I don't need to say we got the right one.

I would still sign Maupay given the chance. So would Tufty. Does there have to be a hero and villain here?

It's a mind-boggling figure and at least £10 million too much but we shop how we shop and the market for British/British based players is insane. Potentially, a very good signing.

So you're basically saying that a 20+ goals in the Championship striker who is under 25 is only worth what Newcastle paid for Carl Cort nearly 20 years ago?

Not for a while I reckon, given our total outlay so far.

Next Summer at the earliest, and I'd hazard he'll already be at a new club by then.

And we have to remember the kid is 22. The amount of stupid sh*t I did at 22...geeze. Appears this guy has just tried to get as much money as possible by listening to someone whom he probably respects and looks up to. Doesn't change the fact he's still a cracking player with a lot of potential.
