Trying to think of cover for Mousset signings here...

for those of you not familiar a few years ago Oli Burke was up there with Brooks as a lad with huge potential moved to wba 15m, lightning quick pace, it hasn’t quite hit off for him, still young at 22yo...

i seemingly in the wilderness after a nomadic career and now on loan at Alaves, I wonder if he would be a decent shout, with a bit of work put in from cwak i feel they could get him ticking... and cannot imagine he would be more than £10m now? Thoughts?

He had a good 2 month spell at Forest and then nothing else. It's unlikely that he's anything other than a flash on the pan

yeah fair play, just wondering if CWAK could get a tune out of him, he has some decent attributes (lightning qucick and dribbling) and I can imagine he would be cheap-ish
 
He's looked great as a winger but not as a striker. We don't use wingers. He needs games too, not to be a sub.

I like the shout possibly but it wouldn't be a good career move for him.
 
Didn't know he was at Alaves. He went to Leipzig from Forest with a lot of hype but only lasted a season there. No shame in that though, they're a Champions League side and it can't be easy going abroad at that age. However, he's done nothing since being back in the UK, including the Championship and SPL. I'd like to think we're shopping more upmarket now.

He is a right winger. This seems to me like a Luke Freeman kind of signing.

Cannot see it being true.

It’s funny, I saw some thing about him bring West Brom’s record signing But never playing and thought that’s such a Chris Wilder player.
 
Might be looking at him as a possible right-wing back alternative to Baldock?

He’s rapid, built like a wardrobe... but I’m sure I’d heard that Leipzig let him go because even though they rated him as an athlete they also thought he was a dim-bulb that couldn’t get their tactics?

If thats the case then I can’t see him having much joy playing for us.
 

I’ve just read a few things on him. Brendon Rodgers said he isn’t bright enough. But said he’s electric quick.

Seems a very very strange signing if true
 
Nathan Thomas and Mark Duffy were both very much wingers before we signed them. Duffy ended up playing the best football of his career, Thomas managed 1 appearance in 3 years.

I can see us playing a number 10 in more games next season, and I can also see us wanting more attacking options from wing-back - Burke could potentially play either, with the right coaching.

I like these reclamation projects, even if they don't always work out.
 
ive thought lots about this singing before, definitely more of a ravel signing. I Would only go for this guy on a free or paying very little, think a lot of wba fans would snap our hands of for owt more than the cost of his contract.

Yes we have a group of lads who have failed elsewhere and succeeded here... but there has to be a reason Burke has flopped at every club and couldnt get in a championship team

Not really sure where he fits, not a fan of these historically crap players Wilder tries to turn good.

Our guys are ones who've performed at decent levels in the lower leagues and made the step up think Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Stevens etc etc etc.

The Rodwells, Morrisons are just crap.
 
Remember reading some of the frustrations on Burkes regular no-shows from West Brom fans.
Personally would much prefer a) keep Cal and try him until Jan - has he developed? or b) if Cal is desperate to return, take a cash deal for him. A swap deal feels like they’re having our pants down.

He can’t be very bright if he was an exciting young stacking player who thought it would be wise to play for tony pullis tbf....

feel like there might still be a player there Who could be cheap but more likely he was a flash in the pan youth project living off a high transfer fee from a purple patch years ago. Bit like that Ben breretton who’s done nothing for rovers.
 
Oh dear. I hope this isn't as an alternative to Matty Cash, or John Swift.
 
Teams have tried to fit him in allsorts of positions due to his athletic ability. He’s played wing back, up front, as a number 10 and of course in his position as a winger.

He’s got talent hence why he’s accrued almost 30mil in transfer fees at the age of 23

He’s absolutely rapid, a good dribbler and strong as an ox.
It’d be an interesting signing and very much a project for CWAK that if it works could be incredible
 

This may come back to haunt me if he does arrive!!!

My take is I fucking hope not - he can’t pass water and he couldn’t score in a brothel with £50 taped to his dick; but apart from that he’s all reyt!!

They fast tracked him into the Scots team. He looked shite in a shite team; that tells you a lot. The comment from one of the Celts that Forrest is better sums him up!!
