So basically it's like talking to a Londoner? He's from Vantaa (next to Helsinki), they can be funny sometimes southerners, so not sure he'll listen to us central Savo folk - I'll give it a try though, but only because you asked.
Only on loan isn't it? I know that still fills a winger spot but it doesn't use up much of their transfer kitty.
Some where saying earlier in the thread that it's Moore or Antman, not bothOnly on loan isn't it? I know that still fills a winger spot but it doesn't use up much of their transfer kitty.
Similar but different. So basically it's like talking to a Londoner?
Yeah, at least in my experience the regional differences in Finland are less pronounced than in England or the UK.Similar but different.
Not quite the same as London level, most people are really nice in Helsinki though, just sometimes they can be slightly more sharp there than the nice normal reserved level that the rest of the country are.
If you really had to define everyone here you have the wider Helsinki area (southerners) , Swedish speaking Finn's in the south west/Turku (the Welsh), Sami people to very north in Rovaniemi /Lapland (Northern Scotland) and then the rest of the country.
Not sure if espoo blade agrees with that?
I am a sucker for some map-pornYeah, at least in my experience the regional differences in Finland are less pronounced than in England or the UK.
I was reminded of this that I saw some time ago. The second one seems to suggest that there is some truth in it, although not sure who the source is, Finn or non-Finn.

Nice. Not really been to that part of the country much. Once visited a mate's cottage near Tohmajärvi which I guess is even further East than you in Karjala.South Savo![]()

Could you please stop wasting time chatting and get the lad tapped up - FFSYeah that's many a kilometre away, but isnt everything!?!
Never been to Tohmajärvi, Savonlinna is probably the nearest place I've been many years ago, been even then it's not that close.
Trust me I'm trying!Could you please stop wasting time chatting and get the lad tapped up - FFS
Trust me I'm trying!
I offered a bag of Fazer salmiakki, and some fried Muikku, but it hasn't quite convinced him yet - the latter certainly would me.
How about 'kalakukko'? That's 'fish cock' for our English readers!Trust me I'm trying!

Salmiakki, not had that in years!, the local licorice!

I quite like kalakukko too, but only really tried a version sold at a supermarket that you just heat up. I bet it's one of those dishes that tastes so much better when it's freshly and homemade.Really dont like Slamiakki, how un-Finnish of me!
Kalakukko is really nice, my family member makes a great version of it, very much a local dish to Savo!
And he doesn’t have to eat fish cock anymore. No surprise he’s gone to Rangers really. Gets to play European football (I’m not calling it champions league as they aren’t all champions), big crowds, gets to flat track bully everyone else except Celtic who they will probably lose the title to again.
So you and Suomi_Blade have both settled over there and you’re now having a chat about how much you enjoy eating fish cock. I don’t think the tourist board is going to employing either of you any time soon.I quite like kalakukko too, but only really tried a version sold at a supermarket that you just heat up. 100% better fresh and homemade, im sure the s-market version is ok, but nothing beats it being done properly.I quite like kalakukko too, but only really tried a version sold at a supermarket that you just heat up. Once you get past the literal translation, it's a real treat! We're just trying to spread the word, one fish c0ck at a timeSo you and Suomi_Blade have both settled over there and you’re now having a chat about how much you enjoy eating fish cock.
