It sounds like he's off to Rangers.
Why can’t we outbid Glasgow Rangers?

They’re not even in the Champions League. They’re in the Euro equivalent of the JPT Trophy.

Once they’re knocked out of that it’s back to playing Motherwell. He may as well stay in the Netherlands and play against Feyenoord, Ajax and PSV.

Comes to the Championship there are more than at least one other big club, the league is competitive and a chance to end up in the Premier League.

If we put our mind to it I’d imagine we can pay better wages too. I bet Hamer is on more than anyone Rangers have.

Even transfermarkt has their squad valued at 15m less than ours.

I wouldn’t say it is a foregone conclusion even if Rangers are interested.

I wonder how much he actually enjoyed his time here. Do we have any quotes from him? Would he even be interested in coming back another year? Wilder's gone, but being left out of the playoffs final squad might still have left a sour taste in his mouth.
Was he left out or injured?

Even if Rangers get knocked out of the group stages, he’s still playing European football and putting himself in a much bigger shop window than anything the championship can offer. They can also offer a much bigger salary than we could.

As a prospect for any new signing, Rangers are a much bigger pull than we are, regardless of the standard of the domestic league.

Of course they are - gigantic club and tradition

Whilst obviously true, there's a reason we're both in for the same players - as a prospect to play for there's probably not a lot in it. They'll probably have the edge on wages (not by much I guess) and can offer European football for a few months. But that's all tampered by having to play in Scotland. English football undoubtedly remains a massive draw to any overseas player, even the second tier. Much easier to get a PL move plying your trade in the Champ than tearing it up in the SPL.

No doubt we were close to Antman. Not Nixons fault Rangers came in later.happens in number of transfers .

Guess it depends how much you rate European competition.

The top level after the group phases of the Champions League, yes, but overall, personally I don’t. Beating substandard teams from Greece or Luxembourg or Belgium, I don’t see as any great achievement.

I think most top 6 Championship teams could have a good run in the Europa League based on their best XIs and most definitely the Conference League outside of the other English teams.

I appreciate some foreign players grow up with it seen as a pinnacle, because let’s be honest, their own top leagues in most cases are not up to much compared to the strength of the English leagues.

Then 90% of the matches at home for Rangers are against League One level teams.

I can see the attraction but as you part allude, you’re going there to get a move elsewhere. You join an English club that gets promoted and you’re already in one of the top two leagues in the world.

That’s just me and I may be in the minority. I don’t like European competition. I find it a bit of a fad.
Someone is judged that he has “played in Europe” as some sort of badge of honour; yeah, he’s played teams from Luxembourg and Latvia that wouldn’t beat Kiveton. Well done, grow up 🤣 That’s my sentiment. Knock out phases of the Champions League 💪 rest, absolute fraud of a competition. Then again I preferred it when Forest won back to back and you had to be Champions rather than 4th place to compete.

Trouble is our 4th place team would win most of the European leagues at a canter, agree with the comment about championship clubs level

Our wageoffers for new players probably lower than a year ago due to parachute ending

Rangers leading the race to sign Mikey Moore from Tottenham on loan too apparently so I think the Rangers links are just lazy journalism linking them with any winger, Could be wrong still

Rangers FC is interested in Oliver Antman, that much is clear. There is no official offer yet, but it can go quickly. Meanwhile, Celtic is still daring (not so successful) attempts for Jakob Breum.

I know the normal naysayers are now out in force, but I'm not convinced that it means our chances are dead by default. I also don't buy that he's Rangers top target, as we've seen several times is could just a likely be a ruse to push players like JRS and Palace into getting a deal done. I think there could be more milage on this and it's not necessarily the doom and gloom scenario that is being spread. Plus even if it is true, it means JRS is available as has been mentioned already by others.
