Funny how everyone seems to not rate him at all suddenly, I do and wished he'd still been in our squad this season

He undoubtedly splits the fan base. You’re just hearing the views of the 50% who don’t rate him and hoped he wouldn’t re-sign, you’re obviously in the other 50%

I would have liked him to re-sign with us on a contract with reduced wages / availability incentivised.

WHEN fit, he’s no doubt a very good championship striker and it’s a shame he’s had to spend so much time fighting injuries.

26 goals in 5 seasons doesn’t look good I’m sure the Las Palmas faithful are bemused at the rumour!

it would have been interesting to see how he did with Moore taking the pressure off him not being the only ‘big man’ to lump it to and rely on!

Why would they be asking him for gravy?
An old Bernard Manning joke. Couple go to Spain and say to one another “We’ve forgot the bisto . I think the couple next door are from Yorkshire, I’ll see if they’ve got any”…..They knock on the door and they say “Hast any bisto?” …and get the reply “Fuck off you Spanish cunt”.

You genuinely talk the biggest load of bollocks on this forum ! You NEVER post anything positive !
As ever UTB !

Hello Stegosaurus
The fact that our top scorer Mcburnie has scored 26 in 146 and that you regard him as one of our best players says we’re in more than dead lumber.

26 goals in 5 years

That’s an average of 5 goals a season

He’s had more cards than goals - 27😂

If all our strikers were fit, he’d be 4 choice behind Moore, Brewster, Osula.

Best player my arse soppy bollox
He's a well known pig on the wind up.

Oli Mac in the most technically challenging league in the world. Be worth the La Liga subscription just for the giggles !!!

Seriously, with the transfer to us and now the transfer to Spain, Oli needs to buy his agent a beer. Well done lad I say.

Thanks for everything you have done for SUFC Oli. Only cost the club £30m so well worth it when all said and done 👍.

Absolute bargain compared to another one of our forwards!

I wish him all the best and wished he'd stayed but I think he'll struggle, if he starts losin his rag on the pitch them Spanish defenders will have him on toast plus his injuries have definitely takin their toll

Well, that’s him gone then.

Another one out the door, and we now need to find another player to replace him.

Yet here we are, having been kept dangling by him and apparently even letting him train with us and at the point it matters walking away.
Can’t help feeling we’ve let it drag on again too long and may well have adjusted targets expecting him to sign due to the way it was going. Me now need to find a free transfer, loan, or use some of the budget we had for other positions to buy in historically the most expensive position on the pitch.

Not ideal

The more I think about it the more I think it's a massive slap in the face. He has kept us waiting all summer, pretty much gave the impression to fans on social media on more than one occasion that he was staying, all while still being allowed to train with us. Throw in the fact the club stuck by him during all the shit he caused off the pitch in his early years and his constant fitness issues that pre-date the Hecky shirecliffe sniper injury crisis. We got what out of him? about one seasons worth of games of him actually being fully fit.

The club has played it's part in him leaving but I'd still say he owes us more than we owe him when everything is considered. Yet the reality is he and his agent kept us waiting til a better offer elsewhere landed.

So yeah I can't say I will be wishing him all the best, hopefully he buys enough suncream.

I like McBurnie and would have been very happy for him stay. Clearly the allure of living on grand Cranaria and playing in la liga was too much

I’m gutted too

He obviously divides opinion, and totally fine with people being happy for him to go based on injury record etc. but the ones saying he’s straight up shit and didn’t give us anything are lying to themselves

Truly wish him all the best, always gave the impression that he loved playing for the shirt & the fans

Can’t wait to see him shithouse a winner v Barca

Saying a free agent, who was a free agent because we let his contract run down, kept us waiting is a bit daft

He was offered a new deal well before his contract ran out, he chose to be a free agent. Even after his deal expired he was giving fans the impression he was re-signing.

The contract was offered literally days before his contract ran out and it was derisory, there’s no wonder he’s waited for a better contract offer from someone and someone who wants him at their club.

He’s never given the impression he’d sign it either Bladesman , that idea has come from supposed itk plonkers off here and social media who are in fact after the attention and are completely oblivious as to what’s actually happening.

We move on to other targets and ones the club really want here, that’s key in all of this really.

He was the one in April implying he was staying. He will have known what his offer was long before his contract expired.

Mental how many people are taking issue with me personally saying I'm gutted

You don't need to be gutted, but I didn't write my post being concerned about your feelings

Not gutted, but I had started wondering if he could play just behind Moore next season, given that's where he's done his best work in the Championship previously.

Oh well. Move on.

He didn’t know the offer would be as bad as it was, it’s evident with the players leaving it to the last minute to decide.

In April he wanted to stay and hoped for a decent contract, whether he deserved that is for another day but I’m sure he felt he did, have you not seen how we’ve gone about contracts and negotiations for the last few years? 😁

Well what does he deserve? he can barely manage a full season without getting injured in some way.

We won't be paying the best wages but we won't be paying the worst either. It will boil down to the signing on fee and that's where agents play their part. I expect with Wilder around many of the agents that thought they were getting a nice pay day on these renewals were in for a shock.
