He's walking around in this dress that she wore
He is gone but the joke's the same
Pretty in pink, isn't he?

Makes you wonder if we were a little hasty in getting rid.
I assume that is a tongue in cheek comment. He’s going to make a very good living (and has done already) bouncing between clubs who think they will be the ones to realise his talent.

The reality is that he is fucking rapid and will cause defences problems with his pace, until the penny drops that you don’t need to mark him at all because he is bereft of any footballing talent.

The club wIll get rid, rinse and repeat until he loses his pace or retires.

I wouldn't know as much as the next man re his attitude to training and how did did he or didn't he put into his United career, but what I will say is that I never got the impression that he was too fussed about being at United and was just going through the motions (though he did have the odd decent game when he first arrived to be fair). That's what it seemed to me as an outsider looking in anyway.

He always seemed to be more concerned with his fashion and getting the pics of him and his daft parrot of a girlfriend beside him as they competed with each other trying to out do the other in looking ridiculous and wearing boots or trainers that would cost the same as a family saloon. He did come across as total prize prat. Remember it was Hecky who said in January that sometimes its just as important about who you get out of the club as who you bring in. After he mentioned that the door at that time was still open for The Moose, I think it was clear that he was referring to Moon Boots Boy. It seems that he didn't buy into what Hecky was trying to achieve and all in all he was an odd sort really.

I was chuffed to bits when Werder came and took him off our hands. He was a waste of a sizeable wage and was basically fleecing us.
He will flatter to deceive throughout his career before retiring to live out the rest of his life, very wealthy and spending lots of money on total crap and being as shallow as a rock pool. I don't dislike the lad (like I do LunnyCunt) I'm just completely indifferent to him.

One regret is that he never had a consistent run in his actual position.

Wilder wanted some pace so played him as a centre forward which had never been his role.

If Berge went, ironically, on the right of a front three is a position he could have contributed.

Unfortunately for him because of the way he was poorly managed he’ll forever have been judged as a centre forward when he’s always been a winger.

I couldn't disagree more with the above two posts. Burke often looked like the only player putting in a shift for us when we were in our descent. Chasing balls into channels, going after lost causes, trying to make something happen.
His ability on the ball was questionable but I never felt his attitude was -not on the pitch, anyway.

As for, "he's a winger." I never saw that. I don't think he had the tight ball control and decision making to play that position. Always looked a centre forward to play on the shoulder to me. He terrified defenders with those raw attributes, you need to put him where they can cause damage.

He needs a run of games to figure out how to play the position, as he's never had it anywhere. Another move to a top division won't help with this. The 5 sub rule offers him some hope of getting regular prolonged cameos though and he can be a very effective "finisher" of games .

97 matches as a winger and he came through the youth as one. It’s only us initially even bumping up his centre forward figures.

You can say in principle you don’t rate him as that but his pace alone will create opportunities. If he kicks it 10 yards forward on a counter attack on the wing, he’ll almost always beat the defence for pace. That gives him plenty of chance to put the ball in the mixer. Also his finishing isn’t good enough to be a reliable centre forward.

Not pushing the agenda he’s great there. More that we bought an F1 care and we’ve decided to race it at nascar and judge it on that.

He’d have made a great Rugby League player!

Here is where he’s played to date:

Said that all along! He'd have genuinely have the potential to be really good in a game that for a winger is fairly simple (assuming he can catch).

Coach's instructions - catch the ball, run until you get tackled. Remember to put the ball on the floor over the line (no Oliver, not the one RIGHT at the end, the one before it) and rule number one, under NO circumstances are you to kick the ball.

For a lad brought up around Leicester, you'd have assumed he'd have had an oval ball in his hand at some point in his life. Picked the right sport for the money but not for his attributes

Short estimation from a Werder Bremen fan about Burke: (Sorry for my poor english)

Almost everyone of us was very sceptic, his statistics, weaknesses and and general impressions in his earlier clubs spoke a clear language - supposedly. However, a very optimistic transfer from Werder manager Frank Baumann.

After the first test match, in which Burke scored 2 goals against the second-division team karlsruher sc, it was a big surprise. Despite his goals, his rather weak finishing and weak "first touch" were the topic of discussion, and the subsequent test matches confirmed this.

In contrast to many here, Burke was always perceived as likeable, perhaps also because he is the first Scot ever to play for Werder. Overall, you got the impression that he fits in well with the team, whose great strength this season is its team unity.
It's also worth mentioning that Burke said in an interview that he sees himself as a joker, which is something I've never heard from a player before.

So what can I say, in the first Bundesliga game against wolfsburg, his substitution seemed like a bit of a gag, he couldn't contribute much.
In the next game against stuttgart, he equalised in the last second - another relatively weak finish, but a goal is a goal. It wasn't quite convincing yet, but the mood towards him improved.

Then dortmund, what can i say - werder set a bundesliga record, a victory after being 2 goals down in the 89th minute has never happened before. Burke with the winning goal after an outstanding ball-carrying, tight shot from an acute angle - that was very strong.
In the following game he put on a lot of pressure again after his substitution, but he couldn't save the defeat. At the weekend against Bochum, again many strong actions, the defenders can't cope with his speed. He was also fouled in the penalty area - again in injury time. The following penalty brought the final score to 2:0.

The Bremen fans are thrilled, no one would have thought he would have such an explosion. Nevertheless, he will remain a joker, at least for the time being, because his deficits on the ball are less noticeable against tired opponents; besides, no one can stop a fresh Burke in minute 90.

We are all happy that he is here, this transfer has already paid off for us. He definitely has the potential to become a legend for us, even if there are weaker phases. It's hard to say why he has already shown more in 5 games at Werder than in his entire career before. Of course, it's not yet clear whether this is a short-lived high or whether it's really just a good fit.

He moved for the bottega vaneta lederhosen.

I’m glad Burkey is working out for you. For us I think we knew we had an athlete. A top sprinter but with little footballing ability. His second touch of the ball was invariably a tackle and his general control was poor. Hope he does it in Bremen. Some players don’t fit at certain clubs and are perfect for others. Good luck to you.

I'm glad you're enjoying him because the money we're saving by not having him here is going to go towards a new contract for Ndiaye who is 1000 times the footballer that Burke is now and ever will be.
