It was nearly 30 years ago,so i think we can all make allowances for our memories,however,i think that this victory was the catalyst that resulted in promotion on that marvellous day at Leicester.

Only piece of grass back then at Boundary Park was at the back of the away end. When we got in there was a game of football going on on it between Blades fans. It was about 30 a side I think.
The Inspiral Carpets were heavily promoted seeing as they are from Oldham and the debut album hadn't been out long. Great stuff for me being a huge Carpets fan. Mooooo!
Absolute scenes in the away end as we won a game nobody expected us to and we started to believe.

Much has been made of the fact that Blackburn haven't lost in 25 games at home. I remember Oldham Athletic had gone over a year unbeaten on their awful artificial pitch when we played them in March 1990. It didn't stop us winning 2-0 in our promotion season. If anyone can end an unbeaten home record it is us! Up The Blades!
