Wasn't near Partridge view Andy was it , got a great view of the lane out my living room window , particularly night games with the floodlights on .And you can just about see my old house, just below the row of houses on Sky Edge!!
Can see my old house on Skyedge in that picture mate , oh happy innocent days .Any one seen this pic before? I hadn't, great shot isn't it?

Yep, minimalistic wins every time. The Sheffield United sign over the door is all the bling that we need. The South Stand with appropriate signage and no naff paint job. Look and learn...
No mate , had the flight booked and the interview sorted , and the job in the bag ,Not next week, nope, haven't you moved to Newport yet??
I have a similar photo from the flats in Norfolk park will try to dig it out .
Guildford drive , then Skyedge (partridge view ), you used to be able to hear the crowd from the lane and knew when United had scored , growing up listening to the radio , I still like and listen to BBC radio 5 .I lived on Dacre Street just off City road/ Granville Road till I was 10 years I old and I knew if we'd won or lost well before my Dad got back from the Lane. Once I got into football I used spends Saturdays when we were at home in our back yard listening to the crowd (and praying)... no Soccer Saturday or Final Score back then.![]()
1975 was a good summer too. The South Stand was first used in August 1975 (1-1 draw v Derby) so the photo is either 1975 or 1976it looks parched, summer of 1976 was a drought wasn't it?
I wish they hadn't demolished the old Pavilion and the terraces, I always thought it would have made a great little tennis stadium!
Yeah there's something about football on the radio for our generation. My dad always had the sport on the radio on Saturdays and just hearing James Alexander Gordon reading the final scores always took me back to those days.Guildford drive , then Skyedge (partridge view ), you used to be able to hear the crowd from the lane and knew when United had scored , growing up listening to the radio , I still like and listen to BBC radio 5 .
