Wasn't near Partridge view Andy was it , got a great view of the lane out my living room window , particularly night games with the floodlights on .

City Road, bottom of Manor Laith Road, I could see the lane from my bedroom too, I've got a photo of the view I'll try and find it!!

I lived on Dacre Street just off City road/ Granville Road till I was 10 years I old and I knew if we'd won or lost well before my Dad got back from the Lane. Once I got into football I used spends Saturdays when we were at home in our back yard listening to the crowd (and praying)... no Soccer Saturday or Final Score back then. ;)

Not next week, nope, haven't you moved to Newport yet??
No mate , had the flight booked and the interview sorted , and the job in the bag ,
Then out of the blue something came up in Dublin , although that job is still available in Newport ,
guy rang me last week to see would I be interested in still moving over , good skilled printers are in short supply in
the U.K. the money would be very good , and it could be something to fall back on though .
Going over next satdi for Shrewsbury game .

Guildford drive , then Skyedge (partridge view ), you used to be able to hear the crowd from the lane and knew when United had scored , growing up listening to the radio , I still like and listen to BBC radio 5 .

it looks parched, summer of 1976 was a drought wasn't it?

I wish they hadn't demolished the old Pavilion and the terraces, I always thought it would have made a great little tennis stadium!
1975 was a good summer too. The South Stand was first used in August 1975 (1-1 draw v Derby) so the photo is either 1975 or 1976

Yeah there's something about football on the radio for our generation. My dad always had the sport on the radio on Saturdays and just hearing James Alexander Gordon reading the final scores always took me back to those days.
