Irony - dictionary definition:
"Incongruity between what is expected to be and what actually is"
Where's the incongruity? We expected him to introduce passing football. If you're talking about people thinking he wouldn't be a success, then I'll remind you that the league season is only four games old.
I think it would be highly ironic if Wilson, having been appointed without the backing of a very vocal group of supporters, then went on to become one of our most loved managers. But I don't see any irony in what you're saying.
But we're just talking we Semantics here really and I'll stop being facetious.
All I can say is I'm pleased with what we've done so far, and I'm well looking forward to tomorrow's game. COYRAWW!
