ok, smartarse, where did the 50 million go to ? because there is no mention of it in the club accounts, the only thing i can think of if he did not pocket it, is that it was moved to his property business, which amounts to the same thing, does it not ?
you've apparently read the accounts, you should enlighten us where the money has gone to. For a starter, where have you got the figure of £50 million from ?

The £25m settlement from West Ham is in the accounts in 2009. It's reported as £18.7m owing to the time value of money*. For that reason and that reason alone we made a profit that year.

This link has the 2010 report which states in black and white that the Tevéz money is in the 2009 accounts on page 8: http://www.sufc.co.uk/documents/sufc-2010-annual-report-and-accounts135-372216.pdf

That and all the other parachute money was used to fund wages in excess of turnover for 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11.

*I've explained this in a number of places - feel free to search for it.

my bad, it was 25 with 18.1 million still to come if i remember. i think, still cant see where it went though, perhaps somebody eslse with a copy of the accounts and annual report can find it and say where exactly it went ?

'and i have said alot worse about mcabe over the years'

and that make it right ?

you said that they couldn't remember what they did when they woke up the following morning. The implication is that they were too drunk to consent to sex. What do you think Evans got set down for ?

in spain that is not rape. in england to most people, that is not rape. hence the whole ched argument of is he guilty of rape or guilty of guilty of poor judgement. a very unsafe conviction and a shady area of rape law that still needs clarification

Not so.

The settlement was for £25 million, payable as four annual payments of £6.25m.

Because £1 today is worth more than £1 in a year's time (owing to inflation, that £1 item today might cost £1.05 in a year's time), future payments are considered to be worth less. The £18.75m was "discounted" to get to the present value using United's cost of capital. I can't remember the exact figure and haven't got the time to work it out but it was something like 15%.

United's accounts therefore recognised that the £25m settlement was actually only worth £18.7m when it came to compiling that year's accounts.

The other thing to note is that turnover (£18.7m) and cashflow (4x£6.25m) are different.

Hope that clears up some of the confusion!
