I would really like the fans of Lundstram to answer the question below
To recap: Lundstram was given the chance when Coutts got injured up until the JTW, when we then went on the sign Evans.
why did CW ALWAYS play Evans before Lundstram in the team?
By all means have Lunny in the team - we won't get above half way if he happens to be a regular.
As usual it's nothing personal - just want us to play top half and challenge for top 6.
UTB
Lundstram featured in 36 league games last season:
17 wins - 47.2%
10 losses - ~27.8%
9 draws - 25%
Worth noting that 10 of those wins were before Coutts got injured
Said it a million times that it's getting boring - he needs to drop quite a few pounds then we'll see his full potential.
Because he’s not a Coutts-type player. Playing him there wasnt ever going to let the lad show his quality.
The following was my post in April this year following my analysis. Please can you tell me which games Lundstram started where we won 17?
PLEASE stop with the Lundstram lLovely Legs Love In. It's turning out like you have an agenda. Not counting sub appearances or cups Lundstram first played in the League against Forest. He scored. We lost. He played the following game in October. We won 1-0. He next started on 31st October against QPR. We lost. He then started against Fulham on 21st November when we lost 5-4. He started the next seven and we had one win, two draws and four losses to the end of the year. So to the end of 2017Lundstram and the team without the malign influence of Evans had a record of 7 losses 2 draws and 2 wins. He then added 2 draws to his record before the introduction of Evans to the team away at Norwich. He missed that game and the next three. Our record with the horrendous Evans was two wins and two losses. Team with Lundstram only - 7 losses, 4 draws and 2 wins. Team with Evans only 2 wins and 2 losses. Statistics can prove anything but that win percentage is telling.
Lundstram and Evans first played together from the start against QPR. We won. The next game was Hull without Lundstram and we lost. Reading without Lundstram. We won. Fulham without Lundstram we unsurpringly lost. Lundstram returned with Evans against Ipswich and we drew. I seem to recall someone failing to shoot when clear on goal in that game. Next Burton. No Lundstram. Won. Forest no Lundstram draw. Brentford Lundstram starts, no Evans Draw. Cardiff, both start. Draw. Barnsley, both start. Loss. Boro, both start. Win. Millwall both start. Draw. Brum, both start loss.
So taking teams with Evans starting alone since he arrived. We have 4 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw. 9 games 13 points - 1.44 pg. Lundstram alone has 3 wins, 4 draws and 7 losses - 14 games 13 points - 0.93 pg. putting them together results in 1.28 pg. Doing a complete comparison it results in Lundstram starts Win 4, Draw 8 and Loss 9 - 21 games 20 points 0.95pg. Evans Win 6 Draw 4 Loss 6. 16 games 22 points 1.37pg.
Apart from the fact that It is my honest opinion that Evans is the better and more creative midfielder (hence why CW used Lundstram as a sub to close out games), it seems that we are statistically better off when he plays.
Now check through that for errors!![]()
