I remember john Harley in an old 4-4-2 mag touted as the next big thing.
As for having our players nicked, I reckon only Murphy would cost any side over 1m.
What worries me about scougal is not only has he not hit last years form this season but he's actually running his nads off- that's even worse isn't it? He's been average while trying really hard

in my opinion a big time charlie is a player who has all the skills but not the mental application to apply those skills
when you are gifted with great natural ability as diego is things come easy while you are a kid.To apply these skills
in the real world of professional football players need dedication and many young gifted footballers dont make it
because they cant give this. school and youth football is easy for these gifted people but to go the extra mile is a
big commitment and even with the big rewards in the game today some hav,nt got this to give,i hope diego is not one of these.reedy is a good example of the application required and as a 17 year old he has a long way to go yet.
 
Baxter and murphy and flynn will all have suitors, the way clough uses them has made them look like players we wouldn't care to lose....

Baxters a seriously good footballer, he's being devalued by cloughs tactics, just like the others..

He's making them look poor, and not even getting results in the process...

I wouldn't blame any of them for going...

That is the single biggest load of bollocks I have ever read. If you think £2 million is more than Harry's worth to us then you're non short of a complete lunatic. He's miles and miles better than any centre back we could sign for that money whilst in this league as is being proven right now.

No it isn't. It's a decision you have to make as a result of selling Maguire. If you keep him you don't have to make it.

Is promotion worth more to us Maguire's fee? One player doesn't make a team but that's the sort of calculation they should be making.

But keeping Harry doesn't equal promotion, in fact given it was him pushing for the move when we turned down the bids makes it even less likely to be a positive effect.

what by not even making the bench? The only thing that's been proven is that he isn't a Premiership standard player and he wasn't worth the money paid, he should have been easily replaced for 2 million.
Love how players become amazing once we move them on.

Fair point ..... and I don't think he is a Premiership player either, however, when we sold him we lost one of the best CH's in League 1 and we never replaced him adequately which took us from a tight defence that made the occasional balls-up, to a leaky sieve which makes 3 /4 serious schoolboy errors every single game !! Couple that with a lightweight ineffective midfield and strikers who couldn't score in a brothel and we have our current mid-table underachievers. :(

You're being harsh on the squad we have I think. With very little additionals (a forward and maybe a centre half) I think they could finish in the automatics. Still think we're going up eitherway unless we get some crippling injuries. The strength in depth will start coming to the fore more and more between now and Easter and we'll be catching those at the top.

I really, really, hope you're correct, I honestly do ...... but I don't think so. There are far more problems than you suggest imho and I think the lightweight, ineffective midfield is very evident in our L1 underperformances.

I think we need RB, CH, 2 x CM, CF to get into playoffs and be able to compete.

What he's doing right now against Arsenal is further proof of shit talking from a typical shite accepting sheffielder. No other club would accept a paltry £2m for a player of Harry Maguire's quality. Shocking business, but the club were held to ransom.
