Without wanting to sound all Dazzler, why would it be a 'cheeky' bet ?

Terrible ground for us in recent times, have a feeling it could be our 1st reversal but having said that, if we get something there I will start to believe we may be onto something this season.

One to leave alone for betting purposes IMO, don't like backing teams on good (or bad) runs.

What with you taking my name in vain, I think I should point out that our past record at Scuthorpe will have little or no bearing on Saturday's game. Given the two teams' current form, it would be a brave man who would bet on a Scunthorpe win.

Scunny will beat us, they always do. We might not all say it, but deep down we all know it.

Totally agree with that the results in that few years may do us a favour they will be expect one thing from us and getting something totally different.

I agree that history has no bearing on each new game (and am trying not to fall into one of your traps ;)) but teams do have consistently good (and bad) results at certain grounds. Speaking as someone who witnessed four consecutive '0's on the roulette on Friday night, you should have been there to convince the punters that each spin was individual !

Actually they don't - it only since 2007 we have had a bad record against them. Prior to that we were a bit of a bogey team for them - our league record against them being: P10 W6 D3 L1. Since 2007 our record is P6 W0 D1 L5, so overall the record is an even P16 W6 D4 L6.

see above - we had a great record against Scunny until 2007 and then it changed for no apparent reason.. It's a human trait to see patterns and meanings that aren't actually there.

I did say 'recent times' ;) Things do go in cycles, albeit it maybe only for 5 to 10 years which is why they tend to stick in people's minds.

Plus, since 2007 we have never played them when we ourselves have been on a good run.

They'll pepper our goal and be all over us. It will the best they have played for years.

The score?

We'll win 4-0 and they'll wonder how it happened!

:D

I think things are coming together nicely and I predict a riot (sorry came over all Kaiser chiefs there) I mean I predict another 4-0 win with Quinn first goal

Scunny are fast becoming Reading. Remember that horrific run where they constantly beat us? We turned that one round, hope we can end the scunny horror saturday.

Reading is another interesting one. Between 2002-03 and 2006-07 our record was P10 W1 D2 L7. Since then, it has been P6 W4 D1 L1.

These things do turn around :-)

Neill Collins to score. Scunny was the nadir of a wretched season for him. He's turned it round so remarkably. I feel redemption at hand.

Not a bad shout there Pinchers - he was close to the opener on Satdi and gets in where it hurts on set pieces.

A couple of defenders have mentioned that they have a goal scoring competition this season, Lecs has come close with a couple of screamers and could be due one as well.

11 different scorers already this season, the sign of a good team. Didn't we come close to breaking a club record the season we went up, around 20 if memory serves ?

I put a fiver on a draw on the basis that I would be happy with that result and if we win, fuck it we won
