I agree with Bob's last post here. Surely SOD and Pembo could perceivably work together? Both have good reputations and are good at their jobs. At the end of the day both men would know that at some point in your career, you have to work with someone new and be professional about it. Even if you have to reach a middle-ground.

I think a lot is being made of this issue.....more than needs to be. We haven't even approached Donny yet (or at least not that we know).

I don't think there's an issue with what Birch said t'other day and SO'Ds principles / ideals. I just think SO'D himself is not convinced that what Birch said is what may happen, we've certainly been saying this kind of thing since 'The Blades Way' was launched and haven't really followed it up.

To me, he didn't rule himself out which he could easily have done and by not 'saying something that could be misinterpreted', all he probably wanted to say is that he would be interested in talking. That, in itself, says he could be interested in moving which is not something he would want to make public at this stage.

Wouldn't be alone in not being convinced either.

This is what I don't understand. We want a "production line" academy which feeds players into the first team YET we let this begin with Hoofy and his negative archaic ideas in place. What sort of youngsters would we be feeding into that shite?
If this was really the aim it should have been priority number one in the summer and the new man at the helm put in place then. Is this just another plaster on the stump of an amputated leg?

>he mentioned having 26000 people struggling to understand his explanation/s of playing well but losing.
hopefully he's just setting his stall out.. SEAN, PLEASE COME.. I DONT CARE IF WE GO DOWN.. I'LL EVEN COME AND PICK YOU UP :D

Haha! He's sat there reading this now thinking about all the petrol money he's going to save.....DEAL!

I tend to agree Torrix, its not what their supporters want to be hearing really but I sense the guy is being honest whilst not committing to anything and why should he at this stage????

Its quite clear that he finds the idea intriguing but is not getting carried away as he has had no discussions yet. I cant imagine for one minute that United haven't approached Donny yet. If the speculation is true that we are interested in him then surely we've touched base with them by now?!

The main obstacle is agreeing terms with his club first. Once we've done that its a case of giving SOD the assurances he wants. If United can do that then they'll get him.....I dont think there's any doubt.

We can do better than that super pig. I suggest a stretch limo equipped with a crate of Bollinger Blanc de Noirs Vieilles Vignes Francaises 1997 and a box of Gurkha Black Dragons. These would be served by a dozen topless dancing girls who would behave no better than they ought.

I'll pay the first £100. Anyone else? Anything else we could include?

Poster on BM, who gets bits of info says he's heard from both camps the same thing.........................it's all down to SOD now!

Will be interesting to read the Donny boards after their game tonight to see what happens....

Dont want to alarm anybody, but a freind served Mr Megson in meadowhall yesterday. Was he here for an interview plus a bit of xmas shopping, or does he still live nearby?

He did live in the area. I've offered him free verbal abuse at a petrol station. He didn't actually say he wanted it but he got it nevertheless.

Definitely still lives in Sheffield, think in the Dore and Totley area. Served him myself late on last year. So don't panic!

Official: he can speak to us if he wishes. John Ryan said so on RS.....whilst trying to convince every man and his dog that he's better off at Donny!

There's always a role for a grumpy ginger dwarf at Meadowhall during the festive season maybe he was applying for that.
