O Hare..

If we can bring in a left sided winger in January then I'd be tempted to play O'Hare alongside Vini instead of behind Campbell, and let Hamer take that central role. Saying that, O'Hare was brilliant today and must have covered every blade of grass. He was everywhere and put in a great shift.

I recall a poster at the beginning of the season commenting on COH's speech.....as if it fucking matters. What we're now seeing is a player who gives his all, what value do you put on that?
People that mock our own players instead of getting behind them need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Real Blades fans get behind the lads and support them all way they don't childishly mock them.

There is a very good reason why so many players have come to the lane and loved it and fell in love with the club and become fans of the club and the fan base are a huge part of it.

O’Hare’s goal was the most remarkable close-range goal I can remember us scoring. He had 3 WBA players around him, they all seemed to get something on the ball, and yet suddenly with his amazingly quick feet he somehow reacted fastest and toe-poked it into the net, when the chance appeared to have gone. A good candidate for Strictly Come Dancing when he retires 🤣

I have watched it back several times and I still don't know how he squeezed it in.

I’m glad you said that. I was watching on my phone, and cursed because the chance had gone, when I realised the ball was in the net and he was celebrating. Several viewings on larger screens with different camera angles, and I am still none the wiser. I was beginning to put it down to my deteriorating eyesight… He has a remarkable ability to nick the ball away from opponents.

That was exactly my experience!
I saw the cross, the bunch of players (mostly WBA) and thought, "The keeper's got it."
Then they're wheeling away in celebration!

I am glad to know that it possibly isn’t my dodgy eyes! I wonder what the reaction was like by the Blades fans at the match. They were at the other end of the ground, and I guess it was one of those goals where there was a gap between the ball going in and the fans celebrating.

Can't find anything else on this but it popped up in my news feed.

That would be just typical losing one of our best players for a few games for something trivial.

Sounds like a load of BS to me. The fact it comes from what will be a fan-run site, rather than anything official and neutral also adds considerable doubt.

If this is the sort of nonsense that warrants disciplinary actions these days, refs would need to watch for subs cutting in front of the corner flags when warming up too.

To be fair it looked like he did the macarena when he scored which should be an automatic 2 game suspension

I think expectations come into how people judged O'Hare when he first signed. I think the majority expected some super link up between him and Hamer where the two would combine to create and score goals. This simply hasn't happened in this formation and set up.

What we have got is a box to box midfielder who is a terrier and never stops running on and off the ball. What we have, ladies and gentlemen, is Stephen Quinn mark 2. They're both so similar in style only O'Hare is better at professional shithousing, whilst mini Quinny was a tenacious pest. One thing O'Hare is clever at is drawing fouls without diving. He slows down his run to ensure contact from behind, or he changes direction and runs across his marker so that they collide with him. It's not diving and it's not a part of the game I particularly enjoy, but O'Hare is very clever at it. I don't mind him not scoring as much as I thought he would or getting as many assists as his work rate is fantastic, and it massively helps Peck who has been thrown in the deep end in Arblaster's absence. O'Hare is a proper team player.

Didn't mind Sqinny at all- but I think this isn't fair on O Hare- who to my mind is literally levels above.
