Before any of you get at me for having a dig at Danny Wilson, this threas isn't meant to inflamatory, just a bit of an observation which made me smile. Its just a bit of fun and reading the article made me think back to the Warnock days. Just a light hearted look at the post match interview

Danny has ticked all the Warnock boxes for a post match review. Warnock used to have 3 key points to address (normally in the post match interview). Fans, officials and the team.

So lets see how Danny did in his 'Reactions' interview on the OS this morning

Fans
- as was the support from the fans.
- The ovation at the end was a barometer of how well we did.
- added Wilson, who was amused by song sung about him from the travelling contigent.

Team
"I thought we were brilliant," said Wilson.
"The whole display was outstanding, as was the support from the fans.
"Beatts went in to help Lowts (Matt Lowton), who was getting assaulted by one of their lads, and he (the Charlton player) got away scot-free!"

Officials
"In my opinion, some of the decisions were unacceptable, including the throw-in and free-kick which led to the goal. Charlton are a good side but I think they got a bit of help from the referee."

The difference is that it's all true; the refereeing decisions were bewildering at times (see the throw-in and free-kick awards given to Charlton in the build up to their goal and the decision to disallow Hamer's own goal).

The fans were excellent; I've already posted about that.

Kermorgerant (sp) was dragging Lowton around by the collar. Beattie shouldn't have got involved but the referee and his assistants should have had a greater handle on the game. How Kermorgerant didn't see red as well is beyond me.

We controlled the game but lacked the guile to break down a Charlton side which was set up to try and nick a goal from a set piece. They're really excellent at the back though and credit should go to Chris Powell for that. We desperately need a plan B centre forward with pace and trickery as we've got 4 whose strengths are roughly the same and that played right into Charlton's hands.

Finally, the Wilson song is amusing!

Slight tangent, but didn't Neil constantly wave imaginary cards at the ref during games? Yet Mancini is being treated like some sort of ill-mannered foreigner? Me no getty.

*tanget ends*

"There's only one Danny Wilson,
There's only one Danny Wilson
He used to be shite
But now he's alright
Walking in a Wilson wonderland"

The difference between Neil & Danny is that Neil used to be apoplectic after every game and used to fire from the lip. Sky and the Beeb loved him for his outbursts, and this probably led to him being invited for tea and stickies at the FA more frequently than he should have.

Danny, on the other hand, is much more measured in his summaries, especially where criticism of the officials is involved. He is much more professional in his approach to handling the media than, say, Neil, or Blackwell, but dispalys passion in the dug-out which we like to see.

As much as I used to love Neil's outbursts, he just sounded like a fan from the terraces when you want to hear a more insightful assessment from the guy leading your team.

Do you think Kermorgant would claim to also have defended his own teammate who was getting a right telling off from Lowton? If so Beattie and Kermorgant may have both had the same intent, but while Beattie's throat grapping probably deserved a red, Kermorgant's shirt pulling may only have been a yellow?
