11 numbers that tell the story of our decline

22, 18, 29, 23, 28, 43, 47, 49, 51, 49, 56

When will it turn around?

So it all started to go wrong in 1975......someone needs to go back in a time machine and discover what happened.

Who's got a DeLorean and a flux capacitor?

I can imagine the fans in 1931 complaining about the 'worst season in our history' and thinking that it could only get better from there.

Surely you mean 1934 when we got relegated for the first time in our history? 1931 was when a certain Jimmy Dunne scored a club record 41 goals in a season. As you will all know we then sold our top scorer prior to the 1933-34 season and promptly got relegated - sounds familiar!

I actually meant 1930, when we finished 17th or 18th. Although the bad times were around the corner (1934, as you mention), in 1930 they would have thought that 17th was as bad as it could get!

I wonder if, in 2076, the future S2-4SU Hologram Forum readers will be laughing at us for thinking that we'd sunk to a nadir in 2016 :(

1920-21 was our worst season since we got promoted in 1893. We won only 6 times (same as 1975-76) and finished in 20th place but luckily Derby and Bradford Park Avenue were even worse than us
