Just watched Huddersfield take a point off Man U and the game has given me further reassurance that we'll be reyt next season.

The gaffer and his staff have made step up after step up. So have players like Deano, Enda, Duffy, JOC and Fleck. Can they not make another step up?

All this talk of we need better than so and so, don't want us to resign so and so..... Bollox. I trust these players to consolidate us in the Prem and with the odd few additions here and there we'll become an established prem team.

Big bad Championship? In....out.....gone.

Why fear the Prem after what we've witnessed the last 3 seasons?

Agree. There isnt anything to worry about, especially if Mr Wilder spend his dollars wisely this summer.

The Premier League is almost like 3 divisions in one. Top division (top 6 clubs) you expect nothing from and you battle it out to get anything. Then there is the next 6 who are well established prem sides or are teams who have spent a few bob (think Leicester and Wolves). Then there are the teams from 13 to 20 who can all beat each other on their days and who make up the numbers. These are who we will really be competing with next season. About 9 clubs and the trick is to finish half way up that mini league (or better!). These clubs are nothing to fear.

Like mentioned above, first season enthusiasm and canny purchases could well see us finish 5 or so from bottom. Then the trick is to invest again and look to finish 7th frlm bottom next and further up the bottom league to try and break into the middle pack. Once you are there, which could take 3 or 4 years of being run well, you are established.

Start of our premier league journey and we need to chip away now to become an established club which in turn brings the consistent jackpot money and the chance of cup glory.

We are on the first rung of the ladder only.

Keys to success

Make home form count.
Recruit players on the upward curve.
don't upset squad cohesion by replacing the entire team that got you there to begin with.
Don't change a winning formula even away from home. Old Trafford isn't the fortress is used to be.

I can see us ruffling a few feathers next year. Hopefully we will have a memorable season.

Ideally we'll get similar to the last step up we made. You'll get a few like Lafferty that did a good job but drop out of the side, and you'll get a few that step up comfortably (I'm expecting JOC to be the big one for us). We'll have to sign players, clearly, but I just hope we stick to a long term plan with regard to recruitment. We've brought in a few experienced players but the bulk of Wilder's signings are players that see us as a step forward in their career and can be with us for a few seasons.

I realise this is not the most appropriate time to criticise but some of the sloppy play today needs to be eradicated.

We'll be facing teams that are obviously much better than Stoke and we'll be punished

Having said that I have every confidence that Chris Wilder and Alan Knill (I noticed his frustrated reactions in the technical area) will put things right.

Anyone who feels that the target for next season is to settle for midtable mediocrity really needs to set their goals higher. We should be going for the title every time.

The key for teams like us in the Prem is not shipping goals. Scoring is incredibly difficult and the players that score a lot cost many small countries’ gdp’s.

That’s why I’m reasonably happy with our current base. Despite our overlapping goalkeeper (joke!) we only shipped 41 this year, best in the Champ along with Boro, and nobody else managed less than 50.

Teams that go up by outscoring the opposition find life very hard. Teams like us that contain well and create a few high quality chances are the ones that survive.

Egan and JOC, and the protection in front of them, are the keys to our survival.
