Anyone else completely deflated still after that game against Southampton? I think the problem with the game was that it was the difference between a very good start (8 points from 5 games) and an average/poor start (5 points from 5 games but could quickly become 5 points from 7 looking at the next 2 games).

Yes we had our chances, yes we played well at times. But we also looked extremely vulnerable and we didn't stamp the authority on the game that we were all hoping for. We all secretly hoped we would re-ignite as the united at home last season when we were pinging it round the opposition box and dominating the opponent. I think maybe it was a bit of a reality check that even the average mid table premier league sides are still beasts in terms of technical ability and they are street smart when it comes to playing the referee.

As much as we need Saturday to come round to try and break this feeling, I also hope it doesn't give us another big set back! Let's hope the lads pull it out of the bag and we can look forward again!

Yep was a bit of a downer i must agree, we will keep chipping away though and from what i've seen i think we will be ok

hopefully we will keep picking up the odd points for the next month or so

for me our real season defining run of games will be end of November to December

30 Nov Wolves (A)
3rd Dec Newcastle (H)
7th Dec Norwich (A)
14th Dec Villa (H)
21st Dec Brighton (A)
26th Dec Watford (H)

really key run of games that, and just before the transfer window too

Id have felt better if other results went our way.

Norwich winning, Watford drawing, Villa drawing, Bournemouth winning...

At least Newcastle lost, and Brighton Burnley drew.

Yeah, thsts a run where we cant lose.

Ideally, winning 4 and draw the others.

I'm gutted. I bet my knob end of a boss £25 we wouldn't lose 3 games in a row this season, shitting it for the Everton match now.

Down and depressed doesn't even come close. Avoided and avoiding all football related stuff at the moment, apart from this message board.

There ought to be some sort of grieving service available for us football fans, ( Blades of course)

No, I’ve supported us through four relegations and it’s made me quite resilient.

I think we have played well in all 5 games so far, I am pleased with what I am seeing. This is a very difficult league and before the season started I would have settled for averaging a point per game (38 points) & hopefully pick up the odd win here and there which may well be enough to stay up, so far on track.

We have played well, we definitely haven't been outclassed. And it's both positive and worrying that 4 of the goals we've conceded have come from individual errors.

Positive, because teams are clearly struggling to break us down and create chances. But worrying, because if we don't put a lid on them, we're gonna keep conceding through stupidity.

It’s swings and roundabouts lads. We will drop points in games that we target as a win and gain unexpected points in matches we write off as a loss. 2 very tough games coming up but I won’t be writing the lads off in any of them. We could just as easy do to the scousers what Norwich done to city.

We're missing 4 points after 5 games. 1 from Leicester and 3 from Southampton. We can't afford to carry on doing this. Luckily there is still a sprinkling of shit below us.

Cut out the sloppy stuff and ffs Didsy put one away now and again.

I know this so negative but I’m just not enjoying watching the way we’re playing. I’ve been spoilt the last few years under Wilder.

We didn’t drop or philosophy when we were promoted from L1 to Champ but we have this time around, I expected this to happen away but at home it’s so frustrating.

Even before sharp being sent off we still had no link up man in the middle getting hold of the ball, this formation is allowing their defensive midfielder so much time to dictate...Romeu and Choudary in my opinion both cleaned everything up as they were unchallenged.

We are playing much better outfits than we played in the championship, to expect us to have the level of dominance we had is a tad optimistic.
We are adapting to a much greater level of opposition. we have lost 2 by the odd goal. We are a gnat's pube away from having got something from all 5 games so far.
There were always going to be disappointments in some games, but there will be great joy when we get the rub of a VAR decision and get a win.
Where has Wolves swagger gone, they look a shadow of last years outfit.
We at least look capable of getting results, lets just not panic just yet.

Have a funny feeling it will take more than 38 points this season too.

Having said that, we made an awful start last time we were in the Premier League and improved as the season went on.

We’ve started okay this time, and we know that historically we have gone from strength to strength in each season under Wilder. The reason being that he and Knill aren’t afraid to change and find a way of adapting and improving. I’m confident that this will happen again this year, the only difference being the consequences of dropping points against those around us could be more costly this time. But of course CW knows this too.

As stated on another thread the result on Saturday hurt because it fell at a bad time with one of the toughest away trips of the season next followed by one of the two elite sides.

Five points after five games is not too bad.. five after seven?. that is the bottom three in all likelihood and that in itself brings added pressure.

As much as that would be great, it’s very unlikely to happen.

It won’t by no means be the end of the world if we lose one of these games.

Not deflated at all now, we lost a tight game and on another day it goes our way.

And if this team has taught me anything it is that we normally bounce back from disappointment strongly. Fancy us to get something on Saturday.
