When a team scored 5 it wasn’t an every week occurrence yes there’s been five six’s and sevens and I recall a nine. But these were few and far between and made headlines.
That’s changed in the Premier there are many high scoring defeats but this is mainly in the premier league . The top teams through excessive money are so far ahead it’s no longer a level playing field, money has created this the premier league is ruined. Question is will it ever become a level playing field again IMHO when the big greedy six go

Talking to a friend yesterday about this. Arsenal sit 1 point above City right now at the top of the table and I've heard so many people say "Arsenals fucked the title race" simply because City have a game in hand.

When you're sat at the very top of the table and people tell you you're fucked because the team below you will win anyway and over take you at what point do you think "ah fuck it what's point in even trying anymore"

In years gone by, fans would be aghast at the thought of the bigger clubs leaving the league structure and doing their own thing. Now, I think the vast majority of fans of the remaining 86 clubs would welcome this news with open arms. I would happily see them fuck off with them driving off in the direction of the neon dollar sign flashing in the distance, and would hope that we tell them they are on their own now and won't be welcomed back. I wouldn't miss them and the footballing culture that they have brought to the game anyway. Good riddance, when they go.

Haven’t had the Premier League is really hard thread for a few days, good to see it get another go. ;):)
The Premier League is really expensive. Forest have spent £600m to earn just under a point a game for 2 seasons. Having a 20 team league that only a handful of teams can afford to compete in without being backed by countries is a little bit tiresome

The gaps will get bigger as each season goes by , more so as they are looking at fines which are meaningless when some are effectively sponsored by a state/country & not a points deduction.
The PL is there to protect its product & will make sure its golden boys are protected along with it .
The only way they could even remotely even it out would be like the NFL & to have franchises , but that would mean no relegation .
With the threat of the European Super league still in the background the PL money ppl are not gonna rock the boat with the big boys that is a fact . Purely & simply it’s waste of time getting promoted without billionaire support

I don’t think the Premier Leaguie can carry on as it is. It’s just so predictable and boring these days. For me the thing that’s done so much damage is Man City. It’s killed it and even Liverpool and Arsenal can’t compete long term.

..and what chance do promoted clubs have of staying up now. Even in the last few years it’s changed. Leicester will probably stay up next season but they should never have been relegated with that squad.

The prize money of about a hundred million simply is not enough to buy the quality players needed to stay up for the promoted clubs.

They will have to do something because fans will begin to turn off. I want United to be a top flight club but after the season we’ve had I won’t be excited should we manage promotion again.

There’s no question the gap between the Premier League and Championship is as big as it’s ever been and that money is the primary factor in creating this gulf. However, clubs like Villa and Newcastle were on their knees after relegation to the Championship now they’re both vying for Europe/Champs League.

Is it a case of - we’ll never compete because we won’t attract a rich enough owner or is it a case of we don’t want to compete because we don’t want to sell our souls?

I could have a wager on the idea that the majority of us would not be complaining if we did a Newcastle and Villa. Or even a Brentford or a Brighton….

If the big 6 fuck off elsewhere don't another big 6 just emerge in their place?

I'm all for them leaving if it creates the chance for a big reset with wage/spending caps etc

And by the way

We’re shit and it’s the Princes fault (and Souza )

If we had finished 4th from bottom we’d be celebrating

I’m not sure that it would happen in the same way. There would be far less money in the game that would be left behind. Obviously the bigger clubs of those left behind would compete near the top, but I don’t think they would be attractive to sovereign wealth funds etc as the ceiling would be too low for them to be interested.

What about conceding 5 away and 4 at home against the second worst team in the league?

I can well understand your thoughts mate and yes i agree it would be great to see them fuck off but the problem is all the billions of pounds that the rest of football need to be shared out will go with them along with all the advertising and tv revenue.

Now now there's no evidence for that and if there was I'm sure the FA would punish them accordingly...
do you really think they will . The last count according to reliable sources suggest they have committed around 100 breachers of the rules . If that is false then some one should make it clear they have not committed any breachers of the rules ,When asked about the allegations Pep stayed silent and refused to deny it .

If the other clubs no longer need to compete with them why would we still need so many billions?

Because they dictate what the going rate is for players not just in fees but in wages to . It is no surprise to me that all the promoted clubs are going back down . We are going back down because we sold our main players and replaced them with crap but Luton did try to sign some quality and burnley spent a fair bit of cash . Forest spent millions and bought over 20 players and just managed to cling on by the skin of their teeth. Which tells me most teams coming up from the championship dont stand a chance from making any impression on the prem . The whole of the footy from the prem down need refinancing . Football is NOT short of money but 80 odd of clubs are .

rumours on Spanish tv chat ( la liga tv ) that we are 15 months from the European Super League , they dont seem overly bothered if prem teams join it or not , but cant see man city arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea maybe man utd wanting to be left outside, while italy german french and possibly 2 portuguese

real barca atletico , hold all the aces , they already have seperate massive tv deals than the other rif raf in la liga

they are initially looking at an 18 club league and an internal super cup

it will move a pace now as smaller clubs are demanding a wage cap which will really upset the supèr rich players

Those 80 clubs aren't short of money, in fact they have more revenue than ever before its just that more of it is going out of the door as they compete to get into, or stay in, the Premier League.

The solution for those 80 clubs is not to worry about the PL and just play football to the best of their ability within their financial means.

Fuck the PL and if those 80 clubs weren't trying to get there the interest in it would start to die and football might possibly return to some sort of normality.

In the meantime attendance at none league will continue to grow. I was at a step 4 play off final yesterday, 1600 attendance, 2 bars sold out, people drinking pints all around the ground and a great atmosphere. I was also at the Lane on Saturday which cost 89 quid for me and the 2 lads (16 quid at the none league game) and it was a misery fest

..other than to collect a load of money to keep afloat ?

I think you will find 60 or so have no thoughts of getting in the prem they are just trying to survive . Also your argument about other clubs throwing money out of the door to compete to get in the prem certainly does not apply to us ,We actually acted opposite in that we sold our main assets and bought cheap crap and we still have not got no cash also Luton spent hardly anything. Archer was in all but name a loan and according to reports recently we are looking to off load Harmer and knowing our club will off load Blaster to. When the results start to go south no doubt the manager will get the blame while those responsible will be miles away out of sight .
