Not signing Bunn?

One of the main things I took from Blackwell's very downbeat interview on Radio Sheffield last night was that it doesn't sound like we'll be signing Bunn when his loan's up. Blackwell talked about Bunn not making the number 1 shirt his own, about how it's been tough for him and, crucially, how he hopes Bennett will be fit for the New Year otherwise we haven't got a 'keeper for our 3rd round tie.

I think it would be the right decision to let Bunn go back, he hasn't impressed and I don't think we can afford to go with him for another 5 months. Everything I've heard about Ikeme makes me think he's no better than Bunn.

Can we afford a decent challenger to Kenny in January? I can't see us prising Lonergan or Smithies away at the stage. What about a cheeky £1m for Grunt?

We get the chance to see how people like Bunn, Davies, Harper(although I think his is an automatic deal when his loan is up) perform for the cost of their wages (plus a small fee)

Of course, like with Halford this seem to have back fired ...but it also meant that we weren't tied down with expensive wages when we didn't go up!

Strange that. I spoke to a couple of mates who are Wolves fans earlier, and they rate him. I wouldn't think they were taking the proverbial either. One said he's good in the air and a decent shot stopper, and the other said he's well liked, and even that some say he's better than their first teamer.

we obviously aren't gonna spend money on a decent keeper as Kenny will be back next season. this season is already a write off (unless we get involved in a relegation battle) so it will be a succession of loans to fill the net until Kenny returns.
