Not signed any CBs so what is our current starting line up

I didn't have a clue what you was on about until I looked them up, ST. It was released in the year we won the World Cup, for that reason alone I'll give it a ten out of ten. :)

Wasn't a hit in 66 though, charted a couple of years later.

That oil drum would make the perfect replacement for Hammond.
Crab , you have altered your avatar title to 'madturbating' , but I'm sure the banter that made us all laugh so much was around the typographically challenged word 'madturdbaiting' - ie: saying provocative things to a curl of excrement which has been pronounced to be of unsound mind (that's the turd which is of unsound mind , not the person issuing challenges to it).
as it stands , your avatar title is only one character from a furious wanker , and I wouldn't want anybody to get the wrong impression about you , pal.

there you go , 2 minutes relief from the crisis in UK politics and in the centre of the Blades defence.....

------------------------Long

Brayford----Wilson-----O'Connell---Hussey

Duffy---------Basham--Fleck------Adams

------------------Sharp--Done

Looks a bit more promising. I think we still need a left winger or a striker to partner Sharp with Adams/Done competing for the left wing spot.

1danewhitehouse I agree with the line up you have put but I think it will be sharp and mcnulty starting up front and still think that Wilson will be used as back up CB and RB. But as you said it is starting to look more positive now got a really good feeling about this season. Fingers crossed.

Not a lot between McNulty and Done I don't think for the striker role. Thought Done was better in the season before last though and if Wilder can get him back to that level, he might sneak it as he gives us more pace up top.

I hope you're right about CB and that someone more proven like McFadzean comes in to compliment the two who could be good but less certain.

Oh good, this thread's back up, I've been waiting to post a line up with actual centre halves for ages...

Long

Brayford Wilson O'Connell Hussey

Duffy Basham Fleck Adams

Sharp McNulty

YEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH.

We're dangerously close to assembling a proper team.

Adams is never LW , I've watched him carefully when he's been given this role and he always drifts inside too much , because of course he is a striker. He will never be disciplined enough to stay wide and get chalk on the boots , so we DEFINITIVELY need a specialists LW , because Done also wants to play striker. My guess is CW will recruit a LW and have Done as cover for either LW or striker.
He will also recruit a target man and have Billy play off him.
So what do we do with Adams , McNuts & DCL ?
Warnock used to like 7 strikers in a promotion squad , we only have 6 so that's not excessive.
If Adams , McNuts or DCL consider themselves better than reserve strikers , then CW will let them go if the fee is right and the wisdom of their decision to depart will depend on their destination club and what role they want.
If they want to be first choice starters , they'll stay in L1 , if they want the Prem or the Champ they are gonna be second string. It's their call.
If I were them with time on my side , I would stay here at a big Club that has a bigger chance for promotion than in recent seasons due to better manager and better recruitment.
Billy is getting on and they could be his eventual replacement if they develop properly.
Once CW has found his LW , his CM (Fleck) and his 2 CBs (McFadzean & O'Donnell) he is virtually there and we could start the season without further recruitment.
But personally I don't believe either Long or Basham will satisfy him as first choices and he will be hunting for a goalie & a further CM in August , but of course I hope I am wrong and those 2 really step up to the plate. If they don't, they can stay as cover.

Wilder says he wants Done to play further up the pitch, he hasn't actually said upfront. I think he will play in the 3 behind sharp

Long

Brayford Wilson O'Connell Hussey

Basham Fleck

Duffy Sharp Done

Adams/McNulty

Roughly same team for me too, swapping Adams with sharp there or if sharp is gone I think scougall might get a chance at the number 10 role

I think sharp has a lot to offer a bit deeper. Especially as he gets older.

In fact I'd swap

I think Adams is much more likely to go but that'd leave the same result
