Then write a respectable letter to McCabe telling him so.

My point is this, if McCabe does not want to remove Blackwell from his job because of the financial downside to that form of action then he is going to stick to making his decisions based on finance.

What all you non renewers can do is to send Kevin McCabe a letter explaining your decision of not renewing being entirely down to Blackwell being in charge. If he gets enough of these letters and season ticket sales do not take off then he may well have to look at the financial impact of Blackwell being in charge being more costly than removing him.

I personally am not in the boat of not renewing. I figure things can only get better and lets face it, home form is not something we can complain about. However I do not see Blackwell doing SUFC any good any longer so I would like to see him go and I think this method could be a lot more useful than 50 kids taking their shoes off on Saturday.

I do ask though that if you do write a letter to Mr McCabe that you do not use foul language or abuse any of the staff at SUFC. It will only dumb down the nature of your appeal to him.

I have been reminded of my offer to send a letter to McCabe, but can only say that things are going off in the background which may mean that a letter from myself on behalf of the site might not be very well received.

That's all I can say really. Be right back, there's a knock at the door...

Ye Gods, have they sent an assassin round because this forum has ruined SUFC?

Can't even read between the lines on that one, very cryptic and a little bit worrying!

Great idea Mousey. I am not a season ticket holder, but I plan to write to McCabe an offer him my thoughts on Blackwell, the current situation and my apathy (reflected in not bothering travelling to United games).

This shall not be a rant, it will be a constructive respectable letter (as Mousey suggests). I shall indicate why I am upset (but in a polite manner), that I feel many others feel the same way and the business argument/financial impact of keeping things the way that they are.

When i've got a but of time I'll draft soemthing and send it to KM. I'll probably post it on here afterwards (purely for illustrative purposes rather than to stimulate debate).

Nowt for the general populous of the site to worry about :)

Unlike our friends across the city, we do appear to have a club which values the rights of its supporters to freely have their say and your vehicle for expressing those opinions is not under threat.

That's still a bit cryptic for me.

Is there an implication that SWFC have been in contact with SUFC regarding the way that this independent site has single-handedly undermined SWFC's attempts to attract finance and SUFC have supported our right to free speech?

That may be a conspiracy theory too far I suppose, though I'd like to believe it.

Not in the slightest.

What we missing then? It sounded like you'd upset the powers-that-be.

The idea of a collated message from us as forum admins was pitched to me by someone else (a forum member) last night before the game, on the face, I think its a great idea....

Along the lines of.... Name, Customer Number, a declaration that they are definately not renewing and what it would take to get them to renew.

Providing it was approached sensibily, honestly and respectfully I think it would be a very worthwhile excercise, perhaps giving the club another platform for feedback without the problem of their image, constraints, procedures and endorsement.

As Linz says though, I don't know if the current timing would be ideal in terms of opening communications, I'll have a think what we can do, any thoughts?

Would of thought the Cheif Pie Man at Swillsborough would be the one to send out an assassin remember its our fault for the failed takeovers :D

It's a very good idea, although I suspect the powers that be sense somat is wrong. They have to sense it surely.

What about people like me with a deep loathing of Blackwell, but who will almost certainly renew because it's what I do every other Saturday?

I'd hate to think McCabe sees every renewal as a vote of confidence.

Then what my OP talks about is not aimed at you. But still feel free to tell him how you feel.

I'm aiming this based on all decisions at SUFC being financial ones.

As long as people don't post their letters on here, christ, let's not start all that again.

Mic,

I too shall renew, but I shall write at the same time saying that I have never done so with such reluctance in over 40 years and I shall say why.

Not read the whole thread but isn't that one just about people being unhappy about season tickets etc?

You don't have to read the whole thread, just the post of Bob's I linked to.

It's to do with what he's hinting at and I can't elaborate further.

People releasing information from inside the club onto the public platform? I've heard a few of the same things Bob has from within the academy and I know certain sections of the first team management aren't happy with the management of the academy, and vice versa.

Could be well off line but there's discontent within different sections of the club, apparently.

People at SUFC read what's on fans forums? Still can't see the big deal - it's an independent forum, no?

Yes, however the point being that they might not be very happy to receive a letter from me or appreciative of its contents, considering what prompted Bob to post that particular message in the first place.

Which is all I said.

Must be me, I'm not getting it.
Can't see why SUFC would be happy to receive a letter from anyone about season tickets.

Must be me also, anyway I went and gave the £419 this morning in return for an expectatione of better things to come next year, I can but dream.

Just my two penneth, for what it's worth...

I will be renewing for next season. I support Sheffield United, not Blackwell, not McCabe or whoever else is in charge, no matter what division we're in or how results go. So yes, I'll be there next season.

why not?

along with any other post/thread that you don't like you don't have to read it/them.
