Not much luck against Wolves

Totally agree ,i just wish we could get someone to pass scougal the ball a bit more,he has the knack to find quality space, which no one seems to or cant pass him the ball when hes in these spaces, lets use his strengths. He also has the eye for a pass so this bullshit about mcdonald been better than scouggs have some have said on here is nonsense.
Scougall is going to be a proper player make no 2 ways about it
I wonder who would've been good at picking those passes out to Scougall???

We should have had a couple 2-0 flatters them at minute.. There just a side full of 6ft dirty twats if u ask me, Wimbledon of old typical kenny jacket side!!!

I am afraid, it is the only way to get out of this division. Charlton, Wendy, Wolves all prove that.

Certainly not McDonald, he's shit.
Guesty you are not wrong mate,i just think scouggs is or will be as good as mcd, they are two different players.
There is no doubt about it that scouggs and mcdonald could play together he would find scouggs no end of times.I was just making the point that just because he had a better game than scouggs on saturday, that doesnt make him better
Oh and by the way ,i loved mcdonald when he could be arsed to turn up,im just making a case for OUR player now,mcd is past ,scouggs is present ,lets get behind our lads and stop going on about ex players who cant do anything for us now
And anyone saying mcdonald didnt go for the money give me the evidence, just because our board said it matched his wages doesnt mean they did it

Baseless optimism is, of course, the only way to support a team. Unless of course the manager is a man you don't like, then the only way is to be as poisonous as possible.

Well all appreciate you love Scoogs but on Saturday's evidence he's not in McDonald's class. Indeed, he doesn't have much to his game beyond his scampering runs thus far.

Scampering runs or sitting in your own half hiding?

Tough call that one.

Also known as 'running the game' as those who watched Saturday might attest.

Still the best player (well, alongside Evans) in the only good team we've had since relegation was clearly garbage.

You honestly thought he 'ran the game' ??
Bonkers

When macca had the ball on saturday, I don't think anybody could argue he was very dangerous, he was the player that made wolves tick. But to say he ran the game is a little much, he relied on other players to give him the ball, and then others to make space. To be honest, anybody with a decent amount of vision could have filled macca's role saturday. Admittedly not to the same quality but still.

Thought Wolves were kicking towards the JSS when he had the ball.

One really good quality through ball and one run that lasted about 5 seconds out of 90 minutes.

Having seen Currie and Salmons play and then having seen them on the pitch before kick off it's quite ironic that we have a wankfest over a 3rd division no-name.

I never had the pleasure of watching the above players, so cant really judge on that. But I agree, he is a third division player atm, its not like he's messi!

Can we merge this thread with the McDonald thread?

Bit tiresome repeating one self.

I'm sorry if my quote was tiresome for you, but considering it basically backed up what you had said previously I cant understand the problem. I never brought the macca issue up, I was just stating my opinion on the matter the same as you.

Not kozie that's tiresome it's having the same thing running in two threads that's tiresome.

The reply to yours kozie was just the way into the thread.

Think there's quite a few chewing on sour grapes here. Yes, they were physical but not cynical. They commited a few fouls, but Coady & Baxter throwing themselves on the floor cheaply in good attacking areas is something I hope Clough addresses.

The team with much better attacking options won today thanks to a individual error & a deflected cross falling kindly for them. Luck? No. Just like Brayford vs. Charlton, if you're applying pressure in attacking areas then deflections/errors happen and I don't see them as lucky because of that.

Wolves were the best team i've seen in this division. Jacobs, McDonald and Clark were brilliant on and off the ball.

Agree with you mostly, I think we WERE beaten by the better side no complaints there, however, I do believe they were lucky to finish the game with 11 men on the pitch and were significantly aided by a very poor referee who completely failed to have any authority over the physical side of the game. A better quality referee would have needed to call for another pencil. The fact that the ref allowed their over physical approach allowed them to dominate the midfield, particularly in the second half.

It does raise points of thought for Mr Clough for next year though. We do need to have a couple more players in our squad who are bigger, stronger and faster; whilst still being able to play decent football.
