Not a knock Blackwell thread .. but

Not sure about O'Driscoll myself but I'd take anyone over Blackwell. Donny's run after Xmas last season was unbelievably good though, proving you can get results and play passing, possession football.

I'd like to have seen Speed given a chance. I know it could have gone horribly wrong with Speed but the thought that McCabe allegedly talked KB out of going is truly sickening.

In terms of managers at other clubs, I honestly think that pound for pound Laws has done as good a job as anybody and deserves a crack at a club with the funds to build a decent squad.

concentrate on supporting the team not on getting rid of the manager...!!!!!

Tony this is not a knock Blackwell thread, he's got enuff of them. :D

Just a chance to have sum banter and sugest his replacement.

cant you put all your shit in one thread ?
Back off, Judge. Seems a straight up thread.

I reckon O'Driscoll will be one of the next managers to make the step up. Be nice to grab him but I can see him bypassing the likes of us altogether!

I would expect it to be another cheapish option. I think McCabe has learnt his lesson from the Robson debacle.

I would expect Speed to be appointed. Given his decent pedigree could attract that elusive director of football that was mooted a while back. Also will have contacts with the big boys in terms of players, but wouldn't command a massive salary being a rookie manager. I really think given the chance he would be an excellent manager.

I cud see that ..... get in fast cud be the answer, he was my intial thought but Robins seems to be sorting the dingles out with sum good management shouts.

A month ago I'd have been on the 'give Speed a go' bandwagon (good drugs promotion slogan that?) BUT I've heard he doesn't bring that much to the piss poor management team we have at the lane at the minute.

Not saying he won't longer term, but may be further off than we think, and could be another great and well respected player who simply can't manage? There are plenty around...

If Blackwell went (will have to be a resignation I think) then I'd be happier going down to the lane on a Saturday and seeing O'Driscoll's work, or Speed's above Blackwell's. I'd also be happier with someone like Chris Wilder who I think will eventually progress in the same vein as Coyle, Moyles, O'Driscoll and so on - lesser known as a player but able to prove themselves as a manager.

Keegan would be too much on the money side.
I'd go with a manager who has a history of winning things, even at a lower level. We need the right mind set to win things and build on it.

I've always liked Martin Allen. Or is he doing rubbish these days?

Had it not been from someone who starts several illiterate threads every day calling for Blackwell's head, it might have been believable, but it isn't, it's just another attempt to bash Blackwell.

Gentlemen - Behave.

There is no limit on the amount of threads this forum can hold. Nor is there any obligation for you to read the ones that offend you so much.

Many thanks.

Why is it? There's more BeightonBlade bashing in this thread than Blackwell bashing. Don't get me wrong, I've called BB a few times in the past about his repetitive negative posts but this isn't one. And even if it were, who handed the sheriff's badges out? And why haven't I got one!! :D

If United wanted to hire you as manager how much would they have to pay you?

:D They don't have enuff..... and anyway the fans are too fickle... sum of em have been supporting the Blades for over 40years and want instant success.

It takes time.

I'd go for O' Driscoll with Speed as a number 2.

Amen brother.

I suggested this in a post yesterday. Providing O'Driscoll would be happy with Speed as his assistant. Speed was an excellent player and more importantly had a good repuation amongst players. The combination of O'Driscoll getting the team to play football and Speed's (potential) to bring better players, bigger names to the club would get my vote.
