I think Ollie's fantastic, and a real asset to us while Coutts works up to fitness. Yesterday, for 70 minutes I think he was brilliant, not only collecting the ball out of defence (as he always does), but more positive in his range of passes. As mentioned above, it looks like he can play the switch balls with his eyes closed he makes it look so simple
Yes but not so much as in 'jump on them'. In some cases the crowd applauds but there are other times where there may be a groan and this may be a risk the player doesn't want to take going forward in the game.In case it flies over and the crowd jumps on them, you mean?
Your point appears to be that you don't want midfielders to go forward and score.I’m making a different point to post #25.

I disagree
that's where Couttsy comes in.. when we are in full panic mode Couttsy is usually the outball. we just give it him and he takes the piss out of the oppo for a couple of minutes as they try and get the ball of himI'll add that I thought the same Vs Preston. When our heads went for that 5 minute spell it looked to me like he actively didn't want the ball, and we were completely at sea. I think he needs to be stronger in being calm headed, and not joining the rest of the team in playing like its the 95th minute.
Fantastic addition overall though. Just needs to play like he does for the full game.

My point is he’s not that kind of player. If they all did it, we’d have no cover. If only two do it, I’d rather it was Duffy and Fleck.
Norwood is there to switch play and get us started. Look how deep he drops. Horses for courses - the marauding is for Fleck and Duffy.
Think you will find that they provide cover for each other.
Norwood stays back as cover when Bash and Jack go marauding up the field.
Fleck also provides this cover when Norwood get up the field
If Jack gets too high up on the overlap Enda often drops back a little.
The same with Bash and Freeman.
Just don't get your argument that he is special and not allowed to attack when every other member of this team except the goalkeeper is allowed.
I see what you’re saying but I think we need some balance (and he’s best to provide it) and some darting forward (Duffy and Fleck being better at that). Do you expect it from Coutts for instance?
Coutts did do it, that’s why his game improved to the next level.I see what you’re saying but I think we need some balance (and he’s best to provide it) and some darting forward (Duffy and Fleck being better at that). Do you expect it from Coutts for instance?
Just how good were the balls he played this afternoon, in the build up to goals 3 and 4?
WHAT a signing he has been.![]()
Our best passing midfielder in the last 30 years, maybe longer.
