What the referee should do is go into both dressing rooms before the game kicks off and say “I’m not going to put up with simulation, feigning injury or time wasting. If I see that during the match then expect me to start showing yellow cards. I’m in charge of the game not the players “It's weird how it's ingrained in the squad so not just a management thing.
I'm not sure what referees are really meant to do when players go down holding their head when it's not obvious if they've been touched or not, but Norwich definitely take the piss with that move.

It really is as simple as that.
Officials are too weak mate, been like this for years and nothing is done by the authorities to stamp it out.Cantwell should have been booked for that pathetic dive in the box early in the 2nd half.
I know what they should do. They should ensure the poor dear leaves the pitch and stays off for at least 5 minutes in order for them to get the proper treatment such an injury deserves. It's weird how it's ingrained in the squad so not just a management thing.

I've sat in front of the director's box for 20 years. The only fans we ever have trouble with behind us are Norwich. They were at it today, gobbing off before the game had even started, thinking they were summat because they were sat on a (marginally) padded seat.
Thankfully managed to get a message passed on so a steward was sent to keep an eye on them - they were trying to antagonise all through the first half.
Had to laugh when the penalty got saved. A few people turned round to give some back and a middle-aged woman whose red-faced brother had been trying to provoke something all match gave a shrill "excuse me! Language! There are children present!"
I pointed out that a) no one said anything that their group hadn't said first and b) it was a football match.
Fully expecting we'll all get a letter reminding us about our conduct againwho were we playing the last time we got a letter?
Oh yeah, Norwich.
The only good thing is that if they had focussed on playing football, they would probably have won. They managed to wind up the crowd and the United players, and they were so intent on getting Utd players red-carded that their defence lost concentration.
Agreed, or alternatively let the physio come on the pitch but let play continue, as in rugby. If the game carries on with 11 v 10 the managers would soon be screaming for the players to get back into their feet.I know what they should do. They should ensure the poor dear leaves the pitch and stays off for at least 5 minutes in order for them to get the proper treatment such an injury deserves.
Seems like Norwich are like a Trojan Horse... superficially benign and inoffensive, but actually full of shit-stirrers.I've sat in front of the director's box for 20 years. It’s Dean Smith, remember his villa side at the lane, the squealing and screaming and rolling about from villa was embarrassing last time they came here and it’s because it’s a massive Dean Smith tactic. I know most managers and clubs do it but there is always someone at the head of the pack and it’s Dean Smith the wanker.

...but only if he knows the difference between a real foul and simulation ! So not that simple for today’s ref !What the referee should do is go into both dressing rooms before the game kicks off and say “I’m not going to put up with simulation, feigning injury or time wasting. True, but by going into the dressing rooms he’s at least stamping some kind of authority on the game....but only if he knows the difference between a real foul and simulation ! So not that simple for today’s ref !
Not when he then refs badlyTrue, but by going into the dressing rooms he’s at least stamping some kind of authority on the game.
Very similar to Derby County at home a few years back at Christmas when Harry Wilson and Co were rolling around constantly and the injustice whipped our support into a frenzyThe only good thing is that if they had focussed on playing football, they would probably have won. Sadly it's only that type of thing, Norwich in 2017, Derby at Christmas 2018, Blackpool antics last week, which getvthe crowd going. The football doesn't usually, not even knocking Blackburn then Reading off the top of the table and pummelling them.Very similar to Derby County at home a few years back at Christmas when Harry Wilson and Co were rolling around constantly and the injustice whipped our support into a frenzy
