Which is fair enough for Norwich. They've taken a 'greater good' approach. He must have some guarantee about relegation. It's fine deciding to sort out your finances but if you then punish the manager for getting relegated then that's not really on.

Problem they will have is that a few Prem teams will fancy their better players and their better players will fancy remaining in the top flight. Farke has done well and some have really clicked. But having Pukki hit the ground was a bit of a one off jackpot signing and I'm not sure they have a right to expect players of Aaron's ilk to be coming though every year.

I'm not convinced going down and then bouncing straight back up will be as straight forward as they think.

They should just play 1 at the back, just whoever is biggest, mainly to help Krul pick the ball out of his net, and dispense with defence.

I don't think they've ever watched another Premier League team. Watford play as good football as them when they feel like it, and they're bottom.

Being able to pass nicely is not a special skill in the Premier League, everyone can do it. Most can do it and defend too.
 
Ripping a promotion team apart is always a bad move, I had a mate who was a schoolmate of Nicky Eaden and when Barnsley went up he was in hoyland drinking with his mates, asked how he was after going up he’s said he will be replaced and it’s been a good ride but they’ll buy and I’ll be shipped out. And he was..

We haven’t done that, and it speaks volumes for the club and the gaffers..
 
There was a bet offered with Bet365 at the start of the season on best newcomer to the Premier League. I think Villa were evens, Naarch were 2/1 ish and we were 3/1. Who says the bookies know what they are talking about? Anyway, wish i’d Lumped a lot more than £20 on it

I hope Norwich go down because all they needed to do was buy a defender and they didn't, I think they play very good football but. Just cannot defend.

And Villa I could go all day on that lot. Did like how in the summer everyone was saying ”theyre gonna do a fulham” and they were so confident that they wouldn't they were talking European qualification.

Reckon Pearson may get Watford ticking too so they need to be looking over their shoulder.

The ultimate chefs kiss move would be to sack Dean Smith and give it to Terry who takes them down!
 
The fact that those 2 are in the bottom 3 despite being so strong last season in the Championship pisses all over the theory that it’s a poor league (by we know who) and just makes our position even more incredible.

Big LOL @ all the pundits who had Villa to take to the league as though they’d carried on from 20 years ago.
 
If they both go down I can't see either of them bouncing back straight away.
Norwich will do a swansea and have their best players pukki, Aaron's, cantwell picked off by the mid table premier league teams (wouldn't say no to Aaron's here) and villa could go one of two ways. Keep the core of the team and do a Fulham and be up near the top 3 or more likely have their star players taken from them (greasy jack and McGinn) and be stuck with the expensive deadwood and do a stoke.
 
It's ok playing nice football, but Wilder has been realistic enough to realise that alone won't keep you in the Premier League. The key for me is how we've played without the ball this season. Both Villa and Norwich can play nice stuff when they've got it, but they've both been poor off it. As Wilder has said many times, you've got to be good at doing that to give yourself the platform to play. That means closing down, making tackles winning headers and winning second balls. That's what has given us the platform to play well and get results.
 
If Norwich do go down which is looking quite likely what do people think about Pukki? Obviously he won't be cheap but he will be about 30 if he isn't already, and I can't see what used to be any of the 'top 6' clubs coming in for him. We definitely need to buy a new striker in the summer.

Because of the way we play there aren't that many players out there that will smoothly fit into our team, but I think Pukki can.

I think his attributes are the epitome of our team in that he works incredibly hard, can't wait to get on the ball, is aggressive/tenacious, always gives maximum effort, is robust, very attack minded and not to mention he's a very clinical finisher which is what we could really do with (despite us having a terrific season so far we've still missed so many chances, he could be the one to bury them for us).

I know we've already got a few strikers the wrong side of 30 and as I alluded to earlier he's no spring chicken himself, but he's still likely got another 2-3 years left in him at least and I wouldn't be surprised if he is still doing well into his mid 30s.

Thoughts?
 



Funny Farke at Nawrich says they won't fall asleep in the January window but at the same time says they don't have a pot to piss in. Rash spender Smith is equally fucked.

Villa & Farkers are both doomed.

At an average mass of 90kg and £37 a gram that means each player would only be worth around £3million each.

We need a new measure for this team.
