Norwich and Villa...

Not looking good for Norwich or Villa is it. Norwich were hoping their young side could carry on as they did in the Championship sorry but when you ship goals in the division below and change nothing Premier League teams will punish you. To be fair to Villa they had to spend money without Abrahams last season they would have been nowhere near the play off's. But still .......... way over £100m and you can't see that much improvement on the team that won the play off's, I'd be seriously questioning their scouting. They look like they are this seasons Fulham, Dean Smith must be getting very worried whether he will still be there in the new year.

Or is it because we've got one of the best managers in the Premier league.
Maybe, he is the best manager.
Who knows, given enough time & funds he could be the first English manager to lift the European Cup.
Btw i don't know who the last one was 🤔
Nah I still think it’s because they are both shite 😀

To be honest I dont think Villa will go down. Norwich will. But it is very funny that we have more points than both of them combined.
Quite surprising that you don't think they'll go down.
Mcginn out for a month.
That's their main man out over the festive period.
According to Sky, it seems like all their heads have dropped.

I bet none of their fans would swap any of their players with ours though.....

Can't see Dean Smith lasting past Xmas.
They will panic and sack him, and get some specialist relegation avoider. (Eg Sam allardyce) in till next season.
Will it work? Who knows. At some point Big Sam will run out of Great escapes.

Norwich will stick with their current set up and hope to bounce back...

Villa fans aren't than impressed with McGinn they think he's been carrying an injury and hasn't played well for ages.

Villa going down would be hilarious, it would also proper fuck up the Pigs and Leeds’ chances of they don’t go up again this year as Villa would sell Grealish so FFP won’t bite and they’ll spend big again. Perfect!

Just stumbled across a Norwich fan saying they'd rather get relegated playing their style of football than stay up and play our's. 😂😂

Norwich fans must really really hate seeing defenders head the ball out of their own penalty area.

Maybe it's against the spirit of the game or something and that explains why we're so disgusting....

Bunch of fucking fannies. Be delighted to see them go down too, because they won't be coming back.

Every decent pundit and his dog pulling themselves raw over our style, and people still believe this enough to write it in public. 🤦‍♂️

Added sweetness due to John Terry being part of it all. He was a great player but highly questionable as a character- I’ll never get over him appearing in full kit running around celebrating after their CL final win despite him not playing due to suspension. That and the hilarious last game for Chelski with the contrived substitution. Utter knob

an accurate summary.

an accurate summary.

Added sweetness that they have abused just about every financial fair play rule and got away with it. Spending over 100 million is completely in character with the club.

The view from this season and last season summed them up. Well I have got news for them "you're not famous anymore" and relegation could not happen to a more deserving team.

Villa spent over 100 million. Fulham did the same last season. Some folk have more money than sense.
Apparently villa might be in trouble over ffp unless they sell some players

MOTD just made a very good point about Norwich. For all the chances they had if you don't take them you will get punished, especially against teams like wolves

I don't understand Villa fans as much as I don't get Norwich fans being so happy with their lot.

Honestly, I said on here weeks ago that I didn't understand why Villa were so calm, some of their underlying stats are poor as balls and just watching the games, even when they win, they usually do it having been absolutely battered for 75% of the game.

It's not quite the same "massive" mentality as Wendy, but it's on the spectrum, they seem to blindly believe that just by being Aston Villa they'll be alright even though they're losing every week, that their players are good enough despite their showings, even say one saying Grealish would compliment Messi and could replace Hazard earlier, and that Poch would be the favourite if they give Smith the heave-ho.

I think dropping into the bottom 3 has made them realise though that they're up to their necks in it now, and they've spunked a load of money on bang average players.

I always think the biggest downfall of a team is the fans having the mindset of "we should be here" rather than "we're currently here". Just sows the seeds of discontent which eventually reach the top and that's when you get rash sackings and toxic clubs.

It'll be interesting to see how it goes, because at the moment, of the teams at the bottom, Watford can sort of defend (thanks to Foster mostly) but can't score, Norwich can attack but can't defend, Southampton have a great attack and one of the top scorers in the league but can't really defend, but Villa can neither score or defend.

Based on Norwich vs Wolves, think Villa will have a tough time against Norwich, who'll also want revenge for the drubbing they received at Carrow Road.

Still a long way to go though, but it'll look ominous for Villa if they don't get 6 points from the next two.

"Samba football" was the quote on the PL's own highlights.

They have to think that we play dogshit football though anyway, because if they thought about how you can be a newly promoted team, play good football and pick up points, they'd go mad.

It's bargaining/ an excuse.
Being able to actually defend isn't dogshit football.

They might want to learn that around 50% of the time the opposition have the ball - good idea if they start trying to prevent them scoring when they do!
