Which is fair enough for Norwich. They've taken a 'greater good' approach. He must have some guarantee about relegation. It's fine deciding to sort out your finances but if you then punish the manager for getting relegated then that's not really on.I bet none of their fans would swap any of their players with ours though.....
Can't see Dean Smith lasting past Xmas.
They will panic and sack him, and get some specialist relegation avoider. (Eg Sam allardyce) in till next season.
Will it work? Who knows. At some point Big Sam will run out of Great escapes.
Norwich will stick with their current set up and hope to bounce back...
Problem they will have is that a few Prem teams will fancy their better players and their better players will fancy remaining in the top flight. Farke has done well and some have really clicked. But having Pukki hit the ground was a bit of a one off jackpot signing and I'm not sure they have a right to expect players of Aaron's ilk to be coming though every year.
I'm not convinced going down and then bouncing straight back up will be as straight forward as they think.
