Go on admit it you’ve just got a select group of Blades fans there haven't you? 😅

I watched the whole game with particular interest in how SB played- he played the Norwood role, sitting deep and being the midfield pivot, he never ventured forward, played lots of short (often square) passes in general kept it nice, neat & simple.

Conclusions - mixed bag really, he didn’t try any of the long sweeping cross field passes that Norwood does, nor does he take set pieces and as a consequence does not create the threat Norwood does through set pieces.

However what he does possess is upper body strength, rarely gets pushed off the ball.

Still, for all his neat & tidiness can’t help but feel he should be offering so much more in terms of his influencing the game & providing an attacking threat by beating players.

Right so we’re selling him to Real Madrid now.... brb off to create the rumour mills next 400 pager

He's played 300 minutes in six days, yesterday the whole teamed rested second half just keeping possesion.

If we had creative attacking midfielders, then a neat and tidy Sander Berge would be ideal sat in front of the defence, protecting them and passing the ball on to others to create.
As it stands we don't have creative attacking midfielders and he'll need to offer more if he's to make the position his own. Whether that be sweeping cross-field passes out to the wing-backs like Norwood, or driving on and carrying the ball forward from deep.
Right now he's probably best suited to the RCM role where he can drive forward without leaving us vulnerable defensively if possession is lost. At present when he plays CM he is too conservative for what we need given the lack of creativity and attacking threat in our midfield.
Couttsy was neat and tidy but he had Fleck and Duffy as outlets in more advanced positions unlike the flat midfield three we currently employ.

Yep but if he was really wanting to put himself in the shop window you would think he would have tried to influence the game more. Don't think his performance has validated any interested teams into paying £35 mill
