No tactic for direct attack of opposing central defence

One thing stood out like a sore thumb today and that is our constant tactic of working our way down the wings, then finding no gaps that leads us to pass back and across the field to try attacking down the other wing ... and vice versa... and vice versa....

i honestly don’t recall for a long time now when we have attacked the defense where it hurts.. right down the middle.

All game today, all Burnley needed to do was to wait until a pass back or a pass wide went astray or better yet for them... go down the wing and throw a hopeless ball into the box where two great strikers were waiting .. both Mousett and Brewster have great speed but cannot head a ball to save their lives so why did we continue to do it?

Today we had loads of possession, loads of passes, and nothing in the box... Today we got our tactics totally wrong for Burnley, we played into their hands.

We literally had dozens of opportunities to put a ball. into the box tonight, but we chose to play it backwards and start again.. We always seem. to be looking for the perfect goal!
We need to start throwing it into the mixer or we've fuck all chance of scoring a goal, lucky or otherwise.
You can't make your own luck if you're not even trying. And that's our problem.

When was the last time one of our midfielders played a ball for a striker to run directly in on goal? Early crosses don't happen either. Defenders hate crosses coming in when they are facing their own goal. These two things have been coached out of the players and we now become a very predictable team with no alternative way of playing.
