no need to be gloomy???????? you must be kidding!!..3-0 loss away to ipswich who also missed a pen and then 2 men sent off....
this team has got relegation written all over it...after we lost v Burnley, we should have got rid of blackwell then..that was the start of what we are reaping now...its bloody depressing but real!

As a matter of interest, do you still get to see any of the Academy games and if so, are there any youngsters who could realistically be expected to make any kind of impression on the first team right now? I accept there would be a risk of ruining a young ld's confidence, but if they really are good enough.......

Hi Trigger, I have not been watching any academy or reserve games for about 4 or 5 years because I spend more time in watching my son play junior league football (he is now in the u13s). I know quite a few players who are in academies or centre of Excellences that have played with or played against my lad so I probably will take more interest in watching academy matches in 3 or 4 years time to see how these players have progressed. I might go to Shirecliffe when we play Huddersfield next month as one of the Hudderfield players (now 17 and playing in the reserves) is the son of a friend of mine

Hi Peter - Whatever you're on I'll have some!

I'm not convinced we're doomed yet but February will be a pivotal month as we all know (and as stated elsewhere) and I'm not optimistic

February 6th 2010 - http://www.sufc.co.uk/page/LeagueTable/0,,10418~20100206,00.html

We'd have been one place lower last season with our current points total.

Were Reading and the Pigs not in a simular position to Palace and us? Who went down? It's not over yet but as I've said elseware:

Ipswich wasn't a pivitol game but 11th against Palace may well be. A lot earlier in the season than for the pigs last year. It will be pivitol only if Coventry and ourselves win next Saturday. If we lose and Palace beat Cov then will/can we then catch them?

I feel the same Silent, relegation issues ain't sorted at this time season it will still go to the last few games. Long way to go yet.

I still have faith in Micky Adams to get us out of relegation trouble.

What are you talking about Silent? Don't you know the man has already had 7 whole games, times up!

No win in 10 says it all. We are not good enough and if Adams thinks by signing the likes of Bent, Mattock, Doyle and Collins we are going to get out of the shit we are in he too is totally deluded.

Nail on the head, we were poor before the latest batch of signings, we're even worse now. Total chaos at the Lane, we're down and out already, and where on earth you can find any optimism in our current plight is beyond me.

There's nothing left, the chairman's in hiding, the club aren't doing anything to stave off relegation, we don't even have an average player let alone a good one and we apparently have no cash.

No worries, we haven't won in ages but let's not be downbeat, we're Sheffield United, we're much too big a club to go down and soon we'll win all enough matches to get out of trouble. I'd love someone to explain how because to me we look like the worst team in the division, or at least on a par with the other two crapsticks. As to an improvement in the last two performaces well so what, they still weren't winning ones and never looked like being.

This division is as shit as it's ever been, and we still can't beat anybody so that pretty much sums us up, we're shite
