No more weekend derby matches?

This is just the beginning.

Their next step will be to write to the FA and League requesting that certain games be played with no away fans in attendance (Leeds, Wednesday, Barnsley).

When this fails to stop trouble (and actually increases it) with fans still travelling to the city centre they will be “forced” to insist that these “high risk” games be played behind closed doors.

This has been their aim for some time.

Yet the Manchester Derby can be policed and fans separated by just the mesh netting - interesting that it is just SYP who can’t manage a derby game.
SY Police seem to make a meal of everything. What other police force carry a 6ft high steel wall around with em. Thus separating 2 sets of fans who in theory could live in the same street.

Couldnt we get the FSF involved. There was a lady from the FSF that got involved when GMP tried to stop a few coaches stopping in Milnrow. Cant remember her name though

I know it passes off lots of folk on here when I go on about the tree felling done by Amey, with the help of SYP, but it was handled in a way to make them seem necessary. They managed to arrest dozens of mostly pensioners and women, keeping them in custody for much longer than was necessary before charging them with an offence, which at a later date was shown to be wrong, that is, unlawful arrest. These old folk didn't need their £200 winter fuel allowance this year, as our ever competent SYP have had to send them each a cheque for £3000.

If they can't manage a peaceful pensioners protest without making a bollox of it, how can the manage a football match correctly

Can we just hire another police force to police our matches and fuck off the SYP altogether? I know extra forces get drafted in to help for the derby matches anyway.

i hate it when i saw this coming. posted this after the derby on post about 6 weeks ago

I said this before the Leeds game & i want to defend us because i truly believe it is ott. Especially when the Manchester derby biggest game in english football doesnt need it. But i also have to be realistic & unfortunately as in everything in life a small minority always spoils it for the majority. Few days after the sheffield derby i came across a picture from social media. when we needed for fans to be on there best behaviour & prove a point. a small minority couldnt control themselves. To be realistic the picture below was like Christmas came at once. Because when the police bosses want justification for why do you need them extra funds/coppers/stewards/metal barriers. Policemen show them that & bosses give them a blank cheque. & we have to pay the price. Horrible but true

The problem does not lie with the United and Wednesday fans, it lies with the completely incompetent police force that operates within this jurisdiction. Why we still have to endure these pricks after decades of incompetence is a sad indictment of our justice system.

As I believe they do, the police may be looking in if so this is my advice..

Away fans are now limited to 2000 for these games now, so if you are lucky enough to get a ticket you must also pay for coach travel to and from the ground, this would create “containment” of the away fans at both grounds, and you’d be able to stagger the arrival suitably to the needs of the police, if you’re a fan and don’t want to do this, no ticket..

Ps, in effect the only fans that qualify for the tickets with enough points aren’t likely to cause trouble, it’s the dickheads on both sides who line the route isn’t it, let them drive past as every other away fan does, it’s not rocket science is it..

SYP are furkin unless they really are , remember the derby last year when our escorted fans missed the first 2 goals ( any blade that falls for that this year wants there head examined) and as so many have said on here all the other derbies that take place in the U.K. And football games with bigger attendances in the U.K. How the hell do other police forces cope ?
Answer = BETTER

There was an interesting call on Football Heaven the other night. A Man. City fan was advising Rotherham fans on the best way to get to the Etihad - park up at Ashton-Under-Lyne & get the Metrolink tram direct to the stadium, 9 minutes.

Can you imagine the fuckwits at SYPD in charge of that? 'Sorry sir, you'll have to go to Bury where we'll hold you until you've missed half the match.'
