Stevens,Robinson,Amadou and even Rodwell could do a JOC cover, don't need to be leftfooted to fit in. Koscielny spent years as LCB , 50/50 rightfooted LCF around is my guess.

Even though Wilder said no signings, still disappointed to see the window close without bringing anyone in. Frustrating to see someone like Harry Wilson with 7 PL goals last season go on loan to Cardiff. Would have been a nice addition and offer the ability to change formation, as well as being affordable. Oh well...

There is an obvious reason why he has gone to the Championship

But right now we're weaker. Baldock and Stevens are integral to how we play, yet despite both, mainly Stevens being in poor form, the two wing backs we signed haven't had a look in.

JOC is snapped and Robinson is far inferior.

Mousset was very good this time last year, he broke down.

Our midfield is a year older, and we haven't improved on it from last season.

Unless Brewster is absolutely shit hot, we're weaker everywhere other than having back up wing backs this time.
Do you want your glass topping up ?

Well reading that lot has cheered me up no end,

We're is nearest river ? .........
Can't have been blades long these lot ,we are in our best position for 40 years spent 100 mill in 2 years got international players allover place, brightest young manager in prem league ....and the doom merchants are out in force ...God preserve us

Maybe some of us have been around long enough to know that somehow, we always chuff it up. We have made it to the promised land, even done remarkably well there, but a seasoned Blade will always know, deep down inside, that disaster is never too far away.
At least we have CWAK. If those 2 cant get us moving again, nobody will.

If we go down then so be it - I'd rather that than risk the future of the club by "chasing the ace" and spending money we just don't have. I'd rather be another Norwich than a Sunderland.
What a attitude to have

Shops now shut and we haven't purchased a Buendia or Benrahma or Rodon, or Watkins, not even a Cooper or any other decent JOC replacements. Most have now gone to our competitors in the league, but perhaps we are overlooking the fact that we 'MAY' have secured the services of possibly one of the most lethal young strikers by the name of Brewster who will now be wearing a Blades shirt.
Just perhaps we have got ourselves the best signing of the lot. Not expecting anything to change in the JW, so let's just hope for a 17th spot or above and re address this again next summer when we can strengthen with a midfield which can create and supply.

And that's why there were plenty of Premier League teams queuing up to sign him........oh hang on
Burnley were in for him but put off by asking price and Liverpool not wanting to loan at the time. We were in the same position with Brewster but we clearly decided to meet their demands. The lad scored 7 goals in the PL last season, last time I checked thats 1 more than Mousset and McBurnie. Only because someone is playing in the league below doesn't make them a worse player, lots of people underestimated our L1 players after all and they aren't too shabby

Out of interest, what would you do?
When we are in our Postion you have to speculate we had loans we could have used and we didn't expect other teams spending is that the right way to act reactive Instead of pro active

Very good post and very true we missed the boat and ended up having to overpay for brewster Wilson is exactly what we wanted

One thing for sure. We're definitely all going to be relegated.

Hat in the ring here, we are going down. And I don't think we will be close to staying up either.

Ibsaw Besic's name in the shout box yesterday. He's what we need. A bit of battle, someone to really tap the ankles. I was disappointed we didn't sign him.

We just haven't strengthened enough. I know Wilder runs a tight ship and wants players who fit the system and fit the ethos of what he wants to do which has worked so far. I think tha might need to change sooner rather than later at the risk of falling too far behind.

I am extremely concerned about of our lack of attacking threat in midfield. We struggled to score last season and it's much worse this one, so far. We're quoted the data on big chances but I don't see it. We create very little at the moment and we're so slow that when a striker gets the ball in the box the defence is ususlly set.

I do worry that by by the end of this year we could be in the relegation places. We're certainly going to be in the bottom five if the first few games are anything to go on.

Our depth worries me because unlike other teams we don't have youth players to fall back on if we get injuries. Not much we can do about that in the short term but if we are determined to stay up we're going to need that sooner rather than later.

Some people on here just beggar belief! We’ve not sold anyone, so our net outlay over two seasons is £120m. Let me repeat that, £120m! We could never have even dreamed of that sort of outlay a few seasons ago. The squad is stronger. Replacing JOC like for like is never going to happen and the same goes for Henderson! Some people need to give their head a wobble.

I don't think people are being overly critical it's just where we are as a club given how quickly we've come up.

We've spent more than I expected and brought in some good players (and the right kind of players)

I'm surprised we didn't use an additional loan and we were obviously trying to bring someone else in.

We're just an injury crisis short of guaranteed relegation. That's the worry. It might never happen but there's the possibility it could. Difficult to do anything quickly about that but suprised we didn't see another couple of faces here temporarily.

It's disappointing to see such defeatist attitudes from so many people, how many times have United been knocked over in the last 4 seasons only to get back up? And yet so many of us just want to moan! I'll repeat what I've already said but for some horrific refereeing we'd be looking ok at the moment.

Just spent a club record on an exciting young striker. But we are definitely going down this season.

FFS
The pessimism on here always make me laugh. Four games in and we are definitely down!! Based on chances created v chances created against us this is the league table. I'm with you - you would think we would be rock bottom!!! Now if I was Man U I would be worried!Capture+_2020-10-17-09-27-54_(1).png
