Having endured some appalling performances at the Lane this season, none more than yesterday's so called performance has highlighted the players total lack of bottle to get the Blades promotion this season.
Yes, there are some that lack the quality and some would say are not good enough, but generally we have a squad that most of the players would get into any other teams in this piss poor division.
We have no leaders, apart from Matty Done no grafters, no one with the nous to unlock defences and for some reason prefer to play backwards and sidewards rather than incisive and forward.
Unfortunately, in the past we have watched United sides full of grafters and never say die attitudes - this lot have no idea how to work and graft and create a result.
Some of them have undoubted football talent if they choose to use that skill, taking Done out of the equation, none of them have the Heart, Desire, or Bottle to make it happen.
Perhaps they may be suited to playing in front of 3,000 every week rather than the 18,000 diehards at BDTBL but one thing is for sure - we expect you to try your best every week and run and run until you can run no more - and most of all hurt when you lose !!

They will be no joy for me whatever we do this season , just a massive relief that we gain promotion , or if not , the season is over.

For next season , to cure the BDTBL playing at home problem , it may be advantageous to switch the home games to Hallam or Sheffield club.

We have a top club , ground , training facilities , perhaps the players need to man up , and appreciate how lucky they all are. Clough needs to remind them of this , and the board need to remind Clough of this .

Well put firey blade......Went to Crawley last satdi and with 64% posession and very little impact on there goal we seem to play it sideways, backwards yet seldom forwards. The front runners Done,Murphy must feel like they're living on scraps. After going a goal down in the last 3 games we have no plan B...seldom do we attack corners, not enough shots on goal, defences seem to have us sussed. Play offs is the best we can hope for. But not holding out hope, our record at Wembley is played 3 , lost 3......( Burnley,Huddersfield, Hull city ).

Have we ever won a game on neutral ground ?

Have we ever won a game on neutral ground ?

Unfortunately Sitters I can go back to 61 when we played Leicester City in the FA Cup Semi Final
  • at Elland Road Drew 0-0
  • at City Ground, Nottingham Drew 0-0
  • at St Andrews, Birmingham Lost 0-2
I was there !

Seem to recollect winning a 4th Round Cup replay 2-0 v Bury at The Rust Bucket after drawing at Bury and BDTBL - in those days you tossed a coin to choose a neutral venue - think it was 1964 ???

It was 1962 when we beat Bury at Hillsborough.

Before that I think the last time we won on a neutral ground would have been the 1936 FA Cup semi-final against Fulham at Molineux.

This is all the players require:

That must be the year when we eventually lost to Burnley 0-1 (Ray Pointer glancing header, if I am not mistaken) in the 6th Round in front of 60,000 at BDTBL !
