..Its the fans fault for Singing Michael Brown's name.

That and the ref, and Brown himself and the Probably the Black Death.

Not leaving out the leading goal scorer and the best young midfielder in the division though, that had nothing to do with it.

Oh Lord Michael Brown

I'd say Clough had lost the plot - but that happened ages ago.

Excuses he had better save some, the Scunny game looks like a must win when you look at the fixtures in January.

I don't know who comes across worse here, the fans for chanting for that bellend or Clough blaming a defeat on it*.

*I haven't heard the comments, its very likely his quotes have been misconstrued.

Clough made the comment in regard to Brown "Rolling around on the ground as if he's seriously injured. He gets up and plays the rest of the game. Maybe our fans won't chant his name so loudly next time"
Later when asked about our decent away support, he acknowledged it and said they were in good voice.
Clough's comment was clearly a dig at Michael Brown and not at our fans, as some of our fans have been suggesting.

Let me know where he said that please. As he certainly didn't in the interview I heard. We are all pissed off with the current form but lying about our managers comments because it suits your agenda is bang out of order.

Ansolutley no need for him to say it at all. Nasty little dig to divert attention away from his own failings.

He said our fans "shouldn't sing his name so loudly," he said it FACT. no need to say it at all, it had nothing to do with our defeat he should concentrate on the real reasons, mainly down to himself.

I think it's really disappointing if Brown was acting. It's not exactly out of character for him, but I'd expect better in this one match, given his history with us.

Yes but the truth wouldn't make a good thread would it?

Not quite, he made a prediction on the volum of the Michael Brown songs next time we play Port Vale

IF Brown was acting, I think his prediction will be correct.

Didn't say that at all though did he?

Dont blame him for digging at the fans... sure give him a clap when his name is announced but dont sing his fucking name during the game!
Clough should apologise in person to every single blade who went today instaed of having at the dig at the best support in the league the spineless coward

Because he is playing for the opposition. He scored a goal against wednesday 13 years ago big fucking thrap. Remember the terrible, genuinely couldntgiveashit performances he put in before sealing his move to Spurs?

Why should he? Fancy singing Browns name through the game!

He can stand there in front of the prat from radio pig berating the support which was superb in terms of numbers yet doesn't ever take a shred of the blame for his stupid craven tactics and team selections and falling out with players. The guy is a joke

To be honest, the number of times we benefited from Brown's gamesmanship during his time here, I can't say I'm surprised this happened today. Also a bit surprised by the reception he got - when he played at the Lane for Fulham, after the initial sing song for him I recall the crowd turning on him a bit as he gave away several dirty fouls.

Although Clough's comments have been deliberately twisted by some on here he really doesn't help himself by coming out with daft remarks about what supporters are singing.

He should be more concerned about the dire performances his team have put in for the majority of this season. A bad January and the pressure on the board could become overwhelming and another of those painful car park protests will see him gone.

If people want to sing his name that's up to them
especially if they've travelled and paid to support their team they can do what the fuck they want for me

Yeah they can and he can say what he thinks of that too. Which was more of a slur on Brown than the fans.
