Nice one Leon

Well done big fella. Take a bow indeed. Amazing how full fitness can revitalise a good player. There'll be a role for this lad next season. He has a bit of an X Factor. He can certainly finish, as we have now seen three games in a row.

Agree . The guy is not operating on full cylinders yet and still finding his match fitness . The bloke like Hanson is a asset to the club .

Still not good enough for some . Never will be .

most strikers would pray for an opportunity like that... the ball slowly floats through the air right down to where he stands, unmarked... and the majority of them would send it soaring into row Z! Leon makes it look easy what an awesome finish

Really enjoyed that goal. Absolute beauty.

Clarke and Sharp is a better partnership than Hanson and Sharp.

The vast majority wrote them off as a partnership, without ever seeing them play together in a team performing properly.

They might not be a totally ideal partnership but they can play together - surprise, surprise, Wilder was right all along.

Clarke's first choice now as far as I'm concerned.

The team was playing properly when Clarke was brought back after Done was dropped. It didn't work. We now know that he wasn't properly fit back then, so rather than Wilder being right all along it was probably a wrong decision to play him back in Nov/Dec when he wasn't right. I'll gladly hold my hands up though and say I was wrong to write off his impact as a starting striker. Whether he can maintain the last 2 weeks over a much longer period though is another question – and worth not overeacting too much to.

His all round game was pretty damn good today, as well, given the issues he's had with injury this season. Love Billy though I do, Leon really showed how important a bit of zip is, today. Poor old Bill looked a bit tired, and very slow, by comparison ?

Tik a bew Leon.

Given you pelters earlier in the season. That's 2 first class finishes in consecutive games.

Keep it up ;)

Good enough for a start in the Championship ?

That's a serious question by the way . I'm not sure he can replicate this recent form in that Division if I'm honest :(

Im not negative but cant help feeling leon plays better with a chip on his shoulder. He had just had some stick off their defender before smashing that goal in and had to give some back before running off to celebrate. My feeling is he has to be angry to have an edge and if he is angry he is a good player at this level! Good enough to step up I dunno has always struggled at championship level but I would give him a chance if we can keep him fit!

Bump bump bump yeeeeeeeh , you can't touch this !!!! (As MC Hammer once sung.)
How good are we ! Another 2 quality finishes ! How good could we be ? This could be the start of a really special time !
As ever UTB !!

I've always liked him as a player and I think he can certainly play a big part next season, probably not as a regular starter but certainly off the bench and starting 10 - 15 games. His finishing is arguably the best at the club and even though he's 32 he looks and plays like he is in his peak as opposed to on his way out. Long gone are his overweight days like he had at they Sty!

Well done Leon.

What if Leon had been fit all season?!

110 points?!

He was quality today, both his goals were quality and he showed once again how two footed he is.

If that wasn't proof that he and Sharp can play together today then I don't know what is. He's better with Billy than Hanson is, that's for sure.

It's a good point Ricky. Whatever the reason, which does now appear to be niggly injuries, Clarke looks a totally different player.

It's definitely made a difference to him. I thought he looked OK in the first half of the season when he played, all things considered, but he's gone up a level now without a doubt.

Primarily Leon's a good footballer. A lot of our fans seem to think he's a target man first and foremost who's not great with the ball at his feet, but it's the complete opposite in reality. That's why he can play with Sharp.

Wilder's maintained all season how important he is, he's stuck with him and he's proven to be absolutely bang on when many of us were open to him leaving in January, mainly due to the injuries. He's probably the main reason we've done this so comfortably in the end. And you know he's not finished yet.

To be fair Ricky, it's been coming for a few games. Sharp needs to up his game not the other way round. As for hanson, there's no comparison. Hanson gives defenders a lazy option in just launching it to him which sharp doesn't read well. We looked quality today. UTB

A serious finisher, isn't he? Very good footballer too - more a number 10 than a target man (not a Mark Duffy/Samir Carruthers no.10, more a slightly withdrawn striker getting in positions to face & run at defenders).

So unselfish of Billy though for the 3rd, right when the Big 200 was beckoning.

I couldn't believe it when Billy squared that. Massive credit to him for that.
