With transfer rumours starting everyday and teams buying and selling i don't think there will be as many big new signings as we think. Once we have all players on contracts fit, i don't think blackwell will be able to bring to many in.

Kenny(if he stays)

Connelly(on a free) Morgan Seip(on a free) Naysmith

Yeates Monty(if he stays) Williamson Quinn

Cresswell Evans

I think Sharp, Ward and Hendo will leave and in will come back up squad players like France and taylor. I do think we will bring in Connelly and Seip on frees who will be on small wages. Still not sure about boggy its all gone quiet on him as usual at the lane. As soon as someone else expresses an interest he will be off. We may see Bartley back on loan as well but i won't be getting excited

This is just my opinion but i can really see that being our starting 11, for me not strong enough and mid table at best.

Why would anyone who had even a vague idea of what the club has been saying about money for the last 12 months have thought we were going to make any big new signings?

Predicting our starting XI is next to impossible at this point.

What a strange post.

Why so strange? Teams have started buying and selling players now? i was just saying that i don't think we will bring in any big signings. Once blackwell brings in a few frees i e Connelly and Seip sits down and looks at his side we won't see anymore well known players arrive.

I couldn't understand why more and more transfer rumours and having players fit meant Blackwell wouldn't be bringing any players in.

I don't think anyone thought we would be making any major signings, the budget's been cut again and doubtless we need to move some out before any real money will be spent. There's plenty of decent players out there for this division who will cost next to nothing in terms of fees but will have to have decentish contracts in place. As always, plenty will call thses cheap signings but that's the way the market is these days.

Last Summer, Ian Holloway was in exactly the same situation as Blackwell is now with only around 12 contracted players. They made one big signing (by their standards) and made up the rest with free transfers and loans and look what happened to them. OK, that was an exception rather than the norm and loads will argue that Blackwell can't do the same but that's the way teams will have to operate now.

I worded it wrong i meant transfer rumours in general not just united. I was just getting at things are getting started in the transfer market. I fully expected a few good signings free or for a fee especially if we get a bit of cash from sales. I just don't think as many will arrive as we think.

He has no choice, he'll have to bring at least 10 in I'd say and that doesn't include covering any that may leave.
