The Sunderland shirt is definitely on the right track. Amazes me every year that striped shirts are causing such problems for designers when it was resolved 40 years ago.

Do it striped. Make players shirts with blocks.

I think it will be more down to a manufacturer not wanting to sublimate [print] stripes on the back due to it cutting into their profit margin. A striped back probably adds 4 quid a shirt to a plain back one. Even more using the increasingly popular digital printing. That's a fair chunk on circa 25k shirts.

I'd imagine everything had been in place to launch this before we cut ties with the AI company.

Explains the drop off in design compared with the last 2.

Heard a couple of things about next seasons kit. As said before it’s Adidas and the home kit will have the 3 stripe Adidas logo as is the recent trend. Nothing else said about striped back etc.
The away kit will be white with red diagonal sash. Quoted as being like the River Plate kit. Not seen any pics but the source couldn’t be any more ITK.
The lack of detail offered was me not wanting to push into a full interrogation.
