I'm really looking forward to next season. Looking forward to going for a few drinks before the match with my son (he turns 18 in June) and pizza after the match before driving back to Matlock. I hope we get some good players in and watch some good football.

Although I won’t be staying up for most of the fixtures due to the UK kick off time. It’s quite good to watch some of the “lesser nations” in action that we don’t get chance to watch regularly. Although I don’t really watch too much football outside of the blades unless I happen to be in the pub. The early rounds can bring some cracking games.

If you get bored during the next few months we could meet up daily and get pissed in the tipsy toad, then nip round the corner and throw cyclists off Matlock Bridge whilst insulting their lycra.

Nope, I mean you might actually see quick attacking play and players with pace and god forbid having a shot from outside the box, instead of passing it backwards and sideways very slowly.

It’s always a nice moment when you can enjoy those things as our sons turn into young adults. A little less ‘Dad’ and a bit more ‘mate’.
