He wasn't the Notts C manager. He was director of football.

I can't knock him for what he did with England but every team he managed prior to England you would expect silverware. All world famous clubs.

Gothenburg, Sampdoria, Lazio, Benfica etc.

I think he had a massive say in Leicester's demise. Reminds me of Bryan Robson, will spend shit loads of money and that's it. Sometimes, he'll be lucky enougfh to have the foundations currently in place to build on (with the clubs above). Other times he'll just spunk the money up the wall and royally fuck it up. Didn't he spend about £3m on Matthew Mills? FFS!!!

I will get behind him if appointed but i feel we should tread VERY carefully if he's appointed.

It all sounds a bit Blackburnesque.. Rich people playing with a club that has been loved for years. "We'll just buy him, that will work"

Gothenburg had never won a European trophy before Sven and only one since.
Lazio hadn't won one before Sven either and none since. In fact they'd hardly won anything at all pre-Svennis. He's their most successful ever manager.
If they're "world famous" now it's largely down to him. They weren't when he went there.

Some of the shite we've had to watch down the years and some have the cheek to call Sven a crap manager. The man's cv is lavishly glittered with silverware, his win record with England is one of the best.....we lost hardly any games over 90 mins under him.

I don't know why folk are arguing about him anyway, he won't be our next manager. I find it very hard to believe someone of that calibre would take us on in our current predicament. Why would he need to?

Da what?!

They were in the relegation zone when he took over and he took them to 10th by the end of his first season. The following season he left by mutual consent as they sat 2 points behind the playoff positions. Since then they have improved further and are regular promotion contenders. Not sure what you mean.

Got that wrong. I thought he had joined before they went down. :p : putshandsupandapologises:

He went to Notts County when they had some Monopoly money...

But I'm sure he's not daft enough to go through such nonsense again.

Fair enough matey we all do it, though to be fair he only got them so far and progress halted before he upped and left. That's my only concern with Sven he doesn't seem to stick around for that long. But then how many managers do?

I still maintain he's a top manager but as you pointed out, his array of silverware came a while ago. I think that may be largely down to a strange choice of jobs recently.....ours would be the strangest.

Robinson drifting – out to 4/9 from 1/5.

Clough back in to 11/4 from 9/1 this morning.

Long odds on again for Clough, never trust betting patterns and all but this looks significant to me.

Loved the claims on Twitter that Sky had deliberately put out false Karl Robinson stories to help the position of their book on our next manager. Probably accounts for 0.00001% of their turnover.

Hope it's Pullis and a return to direct football the only way to get out of this league.

Goodbye to tip tap passing debacle we have had to stomach.
Attacking full backs, at least one winger, playmaker in the middle, and a bullying forward to partner King
Happy Days
Totally agree......

Seems they now might be doing the same with Alan Curbishley - down to 20/1 on skybet odds

guys, ignore chances in the odds, these markets are so small that it takes next to nothing to move them

When will people realise that Robinson loves any publicity. If his name is in the press he is happy and he'll gladly feed the hype whether there is a story or not.
