Just been reading some of the Port Vale forums. A lot of their fans are bricking it, they think he's off.......

As you said earlier though, there is time yet and a lot speculation flying about. Strange that Sky should interview his no.2 (Geoff Horsfield) this morning though, rather than the man himself.....where's Micky???? ;)

I'd be underwhelmed in a big way with Adams. However, if it induced Robbie Williams to suicide I'd take him today.
 
I'd be happy with Micky Adams, I'd be happier with SOD. The other favourites are either out of our bracket or don't really inspire me.
 
SO'D into 4s from 7s at Sky Bet, probably because Sky just put their article up about him :)

Claimer on BM who often gets ITK stuff right, 'claims' that Mark Robins is being interviewed. Can't see it meself.

Would be happy with either Robins or SoD over any of the others who have been mentioned. If only to piss off some Dingles and Donny supporters.

Happened before when after promoting Rotherham, Ian Porterfield left them for us after our relegation to the 4th.
 
Indeed it did oh loin clothed one.

Different times though. We were at our low ebb and were about to spend enough to go back up. What would persuade anyone that the low tide hasn't even got here yet? More cost cutting from our current position wouldn't be attractive in my view.
 
More money for SO'D, into 7/2 and Carver says he's not interested in managing at this stage.

Unless there's a surprise in the offing, it's looking to me like SO'D 1st choice and Adams if he doesn't want it.

Birch said unlikely we would go for a first time manager, Clarke has an excellent cv as a coach but that doesn't mean he will be a good manager, (Brian Kidd) HUGE gamble in my opinion. Having said that, Birch will know him from his Chelsea days......

I notice that despite the media speculation there is absolutely no mention of it on their official site. What terrible communication with their fans!!!! ;-)

I'd go for that. Maybe the club should go for a X Factor style vote? Raise a bit of cash in the process. Mind you, I can see our friends across the city sabotaging it and landing us with the pink option!
 
Adams opened up 9/4 on VC this morning and has gone to 6/4, now evens in the space of 10 minutes. Looks like the latest rumours elsewhere are correct and it's all over bar the shouting.

1/2 with Sky Bet SO'D 7/2, Brown 5/1 forget the rest

If it is Adams, wonder what the odds are on him bringing some of his previous Assistant Managers & coaches like Alan Cork and Sir Bob Booker? I think that would spread a bit of goodwill amongst the fans (more than Horsefield would anyway).
 
wouldn't bring any goodwill from me at all.. i want a proper manager, not someone who gets in because he is a blades 'legend'.. (i use that term very loosely).. never understood the fuss about booker anyway :(
 
sorry to but in guys but a geezer over in the blades mad forum says hes been woken up by a text he,s received from a good friend of horsefield and aparentley horsefields said adams will be signed has the new blades manager by the end of the day.
what truth there is in it i dont know
 
SO'D just gone 1/4 with Sky Bet, the only market up and running at the mo. Possibly just reacting to Ryan's comments unless something has come out at the ground tonight.
 
Seems mad that it's almost a 2 horse race with the 2 runners at each end of the footballing scale really!!
