Brentford, leyton orient, Rotherham then Hull.

Four really tough games playing tues-sat-tues-sun, if the play offs is still a remote possibility after those three league games then we'll be doing well!

Tougher games, thick and fast it'll test discipline, fitness and if we don't pick up many knocks and suspensions we'll do well!

We'll either come out of the tunnel at wembley jumping or crawling!

I think Clough will be setting his sights on Wembley now. Certainly expect to see a similar side to the one that played Peterborough against Rotherham. In fact, I hope he does that too. We only get one shot at the FA Cup semi, whereas promotion has always been the goal for next season since Clough came in.

The good thing with Clough is that he lets the side to learn from its mistakes, drilling into them what is required. Then when it doesn't work, seems to take them back a step and redrill it.

Like you said, he'll probably change things a little again. His attitude of setting us up not to concede works well, when it works, which is more often than not.

I'm pretty sure that wembley will be in the back of everyone's minds but focussing on making the play offs too instills the right mindset prior to wembley.

Notably Hull are also struggling at the moment

But what's really concerning is after such a great defensive record lately, we seem to be getting a little lapse at the back in our last few games. The first against Wolves and the winner today, I may be overeating and probably I'm but I hope this is something Clough addresses.

basically what I wanted to say, but you were to quick off the mark :)

Not an excuse, but perhaps a contributor is that the back four which played against Charlton was bob-Collins-Harry-beard

Yesterday it was freeman-Collins-beard-Davies

As much as Harry's a big loss, Bob Harris was also settling in nicely and the Beard has also had an injury.

But I agree, Clough needs to look at that side of things

Does any one think that their second goal was a lucky hoof which came about because we were chasing all three points?

Can see us picking up 4 pts from the 3 games which probably isn't enough to catch posh or another team vying for 6th.

You are right of course, the goal came about as we were going for the winner and was caught on the counter(taste of our own medicine:eek:)

But it was more than just a lucky hoof, it was a well worked goal, but our players had a few opportunities to cut it out, and not to mention, Howard should have done better with the save.

I'm not complaining, we had our own chances to win the game and probably should have, but I do sense a few mistakes creeping in at the back, make shift back four or not)

If we defend like that or like we did in the first half against Crawley or the entire game against Preston, I don't fancy our chances at Hull. I hope it gets addressed.

Our options for resting players have been diminished somewhat by sending the likes of Miller, McFadzean, Whitehouse and even McGinty out on loan. However, to give ourselves the best chance in the FA Cup Semi Final, I do think we should play an entire reserve team against Rotherham to give our first team 8 days to recover and prepare.

Assuming no further injuries, I would go with something like:-

Brentford – Tuesday – Rest Brayford, Coady, Murphy and Baxter
Howard
Freeman Hill Collins Harris
Flynn McGinn Doyle Scougall Davies
Porter

Orient - Saturday – Full Strength
Howard
Brayford Maguire Collins Harris
Flynn Coady Doyle Scougall Murphy
Baxter

Rotherham – Tuesday – Rest the entire first team
Long
Hodder Kennedy Hill Freeman
De Girolamo McGinn Dimaio Davies
Porter Paynter

Hull – Sunday – Full Strength
Howard
Brayford Maguire Collins Harris
Flynn Coady Doyle Scougall Murphy
Baxter

I think we would get into trouble with the FL if we play your team for the Rotherham game as it would be unfair to Preston, Brentford and Orient

Well fuck the FL, ferguson made 11 changes on the last day of the premier league against West Ham which ultimately sent us down, nothing was mentioned. Fuck em. Fucking stupid fucking bent fuckers.

The experts were all saying that the wins in the FA cup were the driving force behind the improvement in our league form.
But has that FA cup success now become the reason for the current drop in our league form ?

Don't, you'll get fat.

they say overeating is a sign of depression, and a loss is slightly depressing, so at least it kind of made sense.

Ok, it was a mistake, and well done for spotting it sarcastic one. :p:rolleyes::D

If they were playing badly then I would agree. By all accounts we should have won on Saturday

its amazing what a loss brings, I just get the impression some blades are only happy when their moaning. If we win again tomorrow, people will be talking about the play offs again. Fans fickle?

what rubs me up is how people see things
sun on sunday report ,,, Swindon bolstered their play off hopes and probably ended sheff utds with a 2-1win
when the fact is Swindon are 6 points ahead of us but we have 2 home games in hand ,, so can go level

am I missing something , yes we have to win them but they are at home , all our next 4 are

your right, and if we do win tomorrow and posh lose Wednesday, we are actually in a better position than we were before the weekend even with losing the game in hand.

I have a lot of respect for Swindon, I like them as a club, but that loss yesterday didn't scupper our play off chances. We weren't going to win every game left, I take that loss on the chin and move on.
