Anyone agree that we should be well capable of getting 14-16 points out of that lot and getting back on course for automatic promotion?

After last night, you'd expect another good performance on Saturday which would then fill the squad with confidence. Another 3 points against Orient and I think we're looking at a fantastic run until at least the end of this year.

We were saying in the shoutbox last night that we've scraped through the toughest patch of the season. We're still on course for 10 points this month, which we should be very happy about.

When do Phillips and Clarke leave? But yes we should. Last night was the shock of the season so far for me.

I can see us getting 14 points out of that lot.

yeah i totatlly think we have got to go for at least 14-16 points out of that run of games!!!

We have got them for 28 days the post of the OS said. not sure if there is any possibility to extend that though.

I checked up earlier on which of the top 7 sides had played each other, expecting that with our games against 4 of them we'd be pretty handily placed for the remaining first half of games, but I was amazed that other than Preston who have only played 2 of them, everybody else had played 4 as well.

Of these 7 teams we've had the worst performance with just 4 points, which is on a par only with Preston.

This means the other challengers also have relatively easy games too.

be happy with 12 /13
we need to average 2 points per game, to go up

but of 13 played so far weve played 8 v top 12 clubs and only 5 v bottom 12 as table stands
which is the exact opposite of wednesday
and theyve played 6 of the current bottom 8 compared to our 2

we have moved to the top of average attendances at a shade over 19000 , ahead of the sty

What does the Creepometer say?

But Wendy are massive and I'm sure their attendance this weekend will be close on 30k and push them back to the top of that particular contest.

Come on, we are only top because of the Derby attedance. Take that out of the equation and I am pretty sure Wednesday will have a better average.

take out wednesday having the opening day home game yet again then ,
they got nearly 22000 for that then 16k for the next

lets be fair
take out those 2 and we are just ahead

Stevenage is the banana skin

The more I think about it the more I agree - our defence against a percentages team like Stevenage who look to get the ball forward as quick as possible. I'd be happy with a point...never thought I'd be saying that!

We should which, as any Blade kno, means we wont.

always expect the unexpected .........................yer can't go wrong.

actually the 10 games up to the end of the year look nice
6 at home (mk dons , exeter ,carlisle , rochdale notts county hartlepool) only 4 away, all 4 bottom half teams(orient stevenage , chesterfield , bournemouth)

and the possibility of a cup semi (ooohhhh)

We need 2 points a game for promotion so 19- 21 is the bench mark , but I can see a couple more points 23 as achievable out of the 30

Orient - fourth from the bottom of the league. Should be a doddle I thought.
Then I saw that they've won their last three games and are on a roll. We're playing them at the worst possible time.
Still think we can do it though. Always optimistic.

Hope plenty of Blades are able to attend the game. Orient's home gates are normally around the 4,000 mark. Pathetic.

still , lets not lose sight we got a point , away
win at home draw away 2 points per game

and orient smashed the owls 4-0 last season and as was pointed out have won 3 on the bounce

Are we revising this down, or are we confident of picking up three wins on the bounce?

We've blown a staggering amount of leads recently. Once against Wednesday (two goal lead) one against Orient (who had 10 men) twice against Preston, once against MK Dons and twice again today. Absolutely inexcusable.

Dazzler opened with talk of automatic promotion - we're a long, long way from that. The best we can hope for is play-offs, and the thought completely fills me with dread. Being honest, by the time we lose the Blackpool lads I dont think we're pay-off material either.....:(

8 Points:

Orient (a) - D
MK Dons (h) - D
Exeter (h) - W
Stevenage (a) - L
Carlilse (h) - W
Chesterfield (a) - L

It gives me no pleasure at all to say that 4 points from the first four games was as I predicted. Just not in the way I predicted it!! No way was this team ever going to get the 14 to 18 points that some thought.

We will beat Bradford and lose to Oxford. Worse, there will be less than 8k at both games.

I'm off to light a few sparklers now.

If you wanted to look for positives, you could say that at least we're still hanging around the playoff spots even though we're very inconsistent. Or shit.

It just means with a little improvement in our luck or ability to stamp out the silly mistakes, there would be a huge improvement in our league standing.

Out of the opponents in our next 6 games (we have not played them yet before reaching the halfway stage) only Notts County are in the top 9 of this division
